Realme is preparing to launch its next-gen flagship smartphone, the Realme GT 5 Pro, in China. Prior to the launch, the company has been teasing the features of this device. In a recent press conference in China, Realme discussed the periscope zoom camera of the handset. Interestingly, the company also revealed that a similar camera will be featured on one of its upcoming number series phones.
Realme GT 5 Pro with Periscope Zoom Camera
Realme confirmed that the Realme GT 5 Pro will come equipped with a periscope zoom camera. The device will utilize a 1/1.56-inch 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor. This sensor will be complemented by Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and software-based Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). Users will be able to capture pictures with up to 120x magnification (digital).
More Affordable Handset with Periscope Camera
Towards the end of the presentation, Realme disclosed that the GT 5 Pro will not be the only phone from the brand to feature a periscope camera. The company will also incorporate a similar camera on one of its number series devices. However, Realme has not provided any further details about this less-expensive handset.
Realme 12 Pro Plus: Leaked Information
According to leaks, the more affordable phone with the periscope camera is expected to be the Realme 12 Pro Plus. This device is speculated to offer 3x optical zoom, similar to the Realme GT 5 Pro. Unfortunately, Realme has not shared any additional information about this handset.
Leading Zoom Camera Experience
Realme claims that the GT model will provide a leading zoom camera experience. On the other hand, the number series phone will aim to popularize zoom cameras. Both devices are highly anticipated, but Realme has not yet announced the official launch dates. However, it is expected that the GT 5 Pro will be officially unveiled in the coming days.
