Xiaomi just launched the Xiaomi 15, which it unveiled last month along with the Xiaomi 15 Pro. Currently, both models come equipped with Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, but this offer is available only in China at this moment. Xiaomi hasn’t given any clues about when these devices might be available in other countries.
Expected International Release
Looking at past release patterns, it seems Xiaomi will likely only sell the smaller Xiaomi 15 outside of China. For now, the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Ultra, and the Xiaomi 14T Pro (currently priced at $699.50 on Amazon) are the flagship devices for the global market. Still, there are signs that Xiaomi is working on a next-gen model featuring a Qualcomm chipset that has not been released yet.
New Developments
In a recent find, @erenylmaz075 shared a screenshot showing a reference to the SM8850 in what they say is code for HyperOS 2.0. This suggests that Xiaomi might be developing something new with a second-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite, possibly the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 or Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2. While it's still early to tell, we wouldn’t be shocked if this discovery relates to a prototype that's part of the upcoming Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro devices.
