Huawei Confirms Nova 12 Series Announcement Date
Huawei has officially announced that the Nova 12 series of smartphones will be unveiled on December 26 in China. Customers who are interested in purchasing these devices can already place pre-orders through Huawei JD.com's official flagship store. The pre-sale of the Nova 12 lineup will commence at 16:08pm (local time) on the same day. Following a similar strategy to the Huawei Mate 60 series, the Nova 12 series will be part of the Pioneer Plan, allowing users to reserve their devices ahead of the official release date.
Four Models in the Nova 12 Lineup
The Nova 12 series is expected to include four models: Nova 12 Vitality Edition (or Nova 12 Lite), Nova 12, Nova 12 Pro, and Nova 12 Ultra. Each model is anticipated to cater to different price ranges. The Vitality Edition is likely to be priced at around 1,000 Yuan, the standard version targeting the 2,000 Yuan price range, and the Pro and Ultra versions positioned at the 3,000 Yuan and 4,000 Yuan price range, respectively.
Hardware Specifications
According to reports, the Nova 12 Vitality Edition and Nova 12 will be 4G models powered by Snapdragon chipsets. The Nova 12 is expected to feature the Snapdragon 778G 4G chip and support 66W fast charging.
On the other hand, the Nova 12 Pro and Nova 12 Ultra are likely to be equipped with an under-clocked version of the Kirin 9000s chip. The Kirin 9000s chip made its first appearance in the Mate 60 series, which was launched in September and October of this year. There are also speculations that the Nova 12 Ultra will offer two-way satellite communication.
Leaked Specifications and Contradictory Reports
A recent report has already leaked the key specifications, configurations, and prices of all four devices. Additionally, there have been rumors about Huawei working on the Huawei Pocket S2 flip-style foldable phone, but there is no official confirmation regarding its debut alongside the Nova 12 lineup. Some contradictory reports suggest that the launch of the Pocket S2 has been postponed to 2024.
