POCO has recently confirmed the launch date for its new POCO Pad tablet in India after teasing its arrival earlier this month. Himanshu Tandon, the head of POCO India, announced on Twitter that the POCO Pad 5G will be launched in India on August 23.
POCO Pad 5G Launch Information
Similar to other POCO products, the POCO Pad 5G will be available exclusively on Flipkart. According to the Flipkart landing page, the launch event will take place at 12 PM on August 23. The page also highlights the tablet's features, including a 12.1-inch display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a brightness of 600 nits in high brightness mode. The display boasts the ability to produce 68.7 billion colors and has earned TUV Rheinland Triple certification.
Anticipated Specifications
These features align with the global variant of the POCO Pad, which debuted in May 2024. Therefore, the tablet is expected to come with a 2.5K resolution, support for Dolby Vision, and an 8MP front-facing camera. It is likely to have a metal body and include a single 8MP rear camera.
Internally, the device will be powered by a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The battery is set to be a major selling point, with the POCO Pad 5G expected to feature a large 10,000mAh battery, supported by 33W fast charging. On the software front, it will likely run HyperOS, which is based on Android 14, straight out of the box. Additionally, keyboard and stylus support are anticipated, as confirmed by teaser images.
