Redmi is set to launch its K80 and K80 Pro smartphones in China later this month. These new devices are anticipated to be released globally under the Poco F7 series, with the Redmi K80 likely taking on the standard Poco F7 name and the K80 Pro possibly being called the Poco F7 Ultra.
Certification Hints Global Release
Recently, the Poco F7 was spotted on Singapore’s IMDA certification website, suggesting an upcoming global release. It carries the model number 24117RK2CG, where the "G" at the end signifies that it is a global variant. The listing does not provide any specific details about its specifications but does confirm that it will support 5G connectivity. Additionally, it shows compatibility with standard features such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC. Prior to this, both the Poco F7 Pro and Poco F7 Ultra models were found in the IMEI database.
Expected Specifications of Poco F7 Pro
The Redmi K80 is rumored to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, and given the historical connections between these brands, it’s reasonable to expect that the Poco F7 Pro will have a similar setup. Furthermore, it is believed to feature an OLED display with a 2K resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. A large 6000mAh battery is also anticipated. Recently, the Redmi K80 was listed on China's 3C certification site, indicating support for 120W charging, which will likely also be a feature of the Poco F7 Pro.
Design and Launch Speculations
A purported real-life image of the Redmi K80 has emerged in a recent report, showcasing a refreshed design with a circular camera module. However, it remains uncertain whether the Poco F7 Pro will adopt this same aesthetic. While the official launch date for the Poco F7 Pro has yet to be confirmed, the IMDA certification suggests that it may be imminent. With the Redmi K80 series expected to debut in China later this month, a global introduction for the Poco F7 Pro and Poco F7 Ultra seems likely to follow shortly thereafter.
