MediaTek Dimensity Chipset for Reno 12
The MediaTek Dimensity Developer Conference (MDDC) recently took place, unveiling the new Dimensity 9300+ SoC. Alongside this, reports indicate that a new Dimensity 8000 series chipset is also in development and is set to make its debut with the Reno 12 series. According to insights from Digital Chat Station, the Reno 12 is likely to feature the new Dimensity 8250 chip, which is expected to include MediaTek’s innovative “Star Speed Engine”.
Enhanced Gaming Performance
The Star Speed Engine, a feature typically found in high-end Dimensity 9000 series and Dimensity 8300 processors, promises improved gaming performance by ensuring stable frame rates over extended periods with minimal thermal throttling. The Dimensity 8250 chip in the Reno 12 is rumored to consist of a 3.1GHz Cortex-A78 core, three 3.0GHz Cortex-A78 cores, and four 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 cores, in addition to a Mali-G610 GPU.
