Oppo Find X8 Ultra Display and Camera Specs Revealed Before Launch

Oppo has just introduced the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro smartphones in China. These flagship devices, powered by the Dimensity 9400 chip, are set to launch in additional markets later this month. At the same time, there are reports that the company is also developing the Find X8 Ultra for the Chinese market. Although it is anticipated to be unveiled in January 2025, rumors are already surfacing with information about this model. Today, a well-known tipster, Digital Chat Station, posted on Weibo to share some insights regarding the display and camera features of the Ultra variant.

Display Insights

In the shared screenshot, the tipster mentions a new smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite (SM8750). While he hasn't specifically named the device, it appears he is referring to the Find X8 Ultra, as he notes that it comes with a Hasselblad camera system. According to the tipster, the engineering prototype of the Find X8 Ultra boasts a micro-quad-curved display. This device features a 6.82-inch BOE X2 LTPO OLED screen that supports a 2K+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is likely that this display will be similar to that of the OnePlus 13.

Camera Features

The camera setup of the X8 Ultra reportedly remains the same, including a one-inch primary camera and two periscope telephoto lenses with slight differences in focal lengths. Previous leaks from the same source indicated that the X8 Ultra will have periscope telephoto cameras with 3x and 6x capabilities. Additionally, a Hasselblad multi-spectral sensor is said to be included. The smartphone is also expected to feature a single-point ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and carry an IP68/69 rating for resistance against water and dust.

Market Competition

The X8 Ultra will likely compete against devices such as the Galaxy S25 Ultra, Honor Magic 7 Ultimate, Xiaomi 15 Ultra, and Vivo X200 Ultra. While the X8 and X8 Pro are confirmed for a global release, it is still uncertain whether the X8 Ultra will be available outside of China. In the Chinese market, Oppo is also expected to introduce the Find X8 Mini alongside the Ultra model in January 2025.
