Oppo has officially introduced the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro smartphones in China. In the first quarter of 2025, the company is anticipated to reveal the Find X8 Ultra, which will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor in its home country. Alongside the X8 Ultra, Oppo is also likely to announce the Oppo Find N5 foldable device during the same quarter. A recent post on Weibo by leaker Digital Chat Station has shared additional insights about the N5.
Design and Display of Oppo Find N5
As per the leaker, the overall design of the Oppo Find N5’s engineering prototype closely resembles that of the previous model, the Find N3. It will still feature a prominent circular camera setup on the rear. The tipster noted that the display size of the Find N5 will be larger than its predecessor, but didn't specify exact dimensions. Earlier leaks from the same source indicated that the internal display of the device will support a 2K+ resolution.
Performance and Battery Capacity
Under the hood, the Oppo Find N5 is set to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and reports hint that it could be the first foldable phone in the world to run on this processor. While the earlier model had a 4,805mAh battery, the N5 is expected to come with a significant upgrade featuring a dual-cell battery setup (2,460mAh + 3,105mAh), providing a total capacity of 5,565mAh. It’s estimated that the typical battery capacity will be around 5,700mAh.
Currently, there isn't any verified information regarding the device’s wired charging abilities, but it is speculated to support wireless charging capabilities. Oppo has hinted that the N5 will also feature magnetic wireless charging technology.
Camera System and Slim Design
In terms of photography, the N5 is expected to boast a Hasselblad-optimized triple camera setup, which includes a 50-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera that offers 3x optical zoom. A notable characteristic of the Find N5 is its thinness, measuring approximately 9.x mm when folded, according to earlier leaks from DCS. To keep this slim profile, the company plans to use a specially designed slim USB-C port.
There are rumors suggesting that the Find N5 may be rebranded as the OnePlus Open 2 in some regions like India, Europe, and the US, but there are no definitive details available about its launch schedule.
