OnePlus has introduced the OnePlus Pad Pro in China back in June, marking its entry as the first tablet equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. Although many would assume the company is developing a direct successor, it seems that OnePlus is planning to release a refreshed model first.
Upcoming Refresh Details
According to the Chinese source WhyLab, OnePlus is preparing to unveil an updated version of the OnePlus Pad Pro. This new tablet will essentially be a larger version of the original OnePlus Pad Pro, featuring a 13-inch display compared to the 12.1-inch screen of its predecessor.
Specifications and Features
Most of the specifications are likely to remain unchanged from the original Pad Pro. This means it will have a 144 Hz LCD panel, a 240 Hz touch sampling rate, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It’s still unclear if the bigger screen will come with a battery that’s larger than the 9510 mAh battery found in the standard OnePlus Pad Pro, though.
Resolution and Brightness Changes
However, two significant updates are anticipated. First, the display resolution is expected to improve from 3000x2120 to 3840x2400. On the other hand, the peak brightness seems to decrease from 900 nits on the 12.1-inch model to only 600 nits on the 13-inch variant. Given that the OnePlus Pad Pro was renamed as the OnePlus Pad 2 in other countries, it’s probable that this 13-inch refresh will be marketed similarly.
