OnePlus Buds Pro 3: 50dB ANC, Leather Case Design Revealed

OnePlus is developing the next iteration of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, which launched earlier last year. Initially, it was rumored that the Buds Pro 3 would come in three colors – black, gold, and green. However, details about the design and specifications were scarce. Thanks to a recent leak (via Smartprix), more information regarding the Buds Pro 3 has surfaced. The publication also hints at an imminent launch.

OnePlus Buds Pro 3 design & specifications:

From the images, the case resembles the OnePlus Nord Buds 3 Pro, but the earbuds have a slightly altered design. The images also show that the case will feature a leather finish on the front, with a pairing button on the right and a Type-C port at the bottom for charging. Each earbud has the text “Co-created with Dynaudio,” and the ONEPLUS logo is engraved on the front of the case. The case weighs 61g.

Regarding colors, the latest images display two options – black, and a mix of silver and gold. The earbuds will have a glossy stem and a matte finish near the ear tips.

According to the leak, the earbuds include an 11mm woofer and a 6mm tweeter, each reportedly powered by its own DAC (digital to analog converter).

Connectivity and Audio Quality

For connectivity, the earbuds support Bluetooth 5.4, offering 94ms low-latency audio, which is ideal for activities like gaming. The earbuds are said to support the LHDC 5.0 audio codec, delivering stereo-grade clarity and depth with up to 1 Mbps bitrate and 24-bit/192 kHz audio. Notably, this product will support dual-device connectivity.

The Buds 3 Pro promises a 43-hour battery life and supports fast charging. It reportedly provides 5 hours of music playback with just 10 minutes of charging. However, the leak does not specify the state of ANC during this time. Compared to its predecessor, the battery life is extended by four hours.

Additional Features

In terms of ANC (active noise cancellation), it has been enhanced from the predecessor’s 49db to 50db. Additionally, voice calls are expected to sound twice as clear.

The Buds Pro 3 is also IP55 dust and water-resistant, meaning it can handle minor splashes, rain, or sweat. While the pricing is still unclear, it is expected to be around Rs 12,000 (~1,035 Yuan) in India, similar to its predecessor, which launched at Rs 11,999 in the country.
