One model is said to come with the previous generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, while the Pro version might aim to be the most budget-friendly Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship. A popular tipster on Weibo, Digital Chat Station, has previously provided some potential specifications for the standard model, which is likely to be available globally as the OnePlus 13R.
New Details Emerge
Recently, the well-known leaker has revealed additional information regarding the lineup of phones. The Ace 5 series is expected to come equipped with a flat display, similar to the recently released Snapdragon 8 Elite flagships. The Weibo tipster also mentions that the battery capacity is projected to be between 6,200 mAh and 6,300 mAh.
Comparing Battery Capacities
For reference, the OnePlus 13 was launched with a 6,000 mAh battery, which is the largest capacity seen in the company’s global offerings so far. Therefore, the Ace 5, or OnePlus 13R, could push that limit a little further. As mentioned by the tipster earlier, this sizable battery will support 100W fast charging (the 140W Anker 737 power bank currently priced at $106.48 on Amazon).
Fingerprint Technology
While many specifications are flagship-level, the Ace 5 series will have a less premium feature with its fingerprint scanner. According to Digital Chat Station's latest update, the series will utilize an optical fingerprint sensor, whereas the recently launched Snapdragon 8 Elite devices have transitioned to an ultrasonic sensor.
Camera and Launch Timing
On a positive note, the Ace 5 Pro, which might be released as the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Elite device, is rumored to include a robust camera setup that shares the same processing algorithms as the Find X8 series. The latest rumors also indicate that this new line of smartphones may debut in China come December.
