OnePlus has officially announced that the OnePlus 13 series will be globally unveiled in January 2025. The brand has indicated that the "OnePlus 13 Series Winter Launch Event" is set for January 7. The launch event will introduce two new smartphones: the OnePlus 13R and the OnePlus 13.
Launch Event Date
The OnePlus 13R and 13 will replace the OnePlus 12R and 12, which were released earlier this year in various regions. The OnePlus 13 is a high-end flagship device powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, while the 13R is a sub-flagship model that comes with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Both devices will operate on the latest Android 15, complemented by ColorOS 15 UI.
Specifications and Features
Since the OnePlus 13 has already been launched in China this October, its features are already out in the open. The company has confirmed that, similar to the Chinese launch, the OP13 will be available globally in blue, black, and white colors.
As for the OnePlus 13R's design, it highlights a round camera module that is distinct from the device's frame, unlike the OnePlus 12R. The 12R featured a curved-edge display, whereas the 13R is designed with a flat screen. It is anticipated to support a 1.5K resolution and will have an optical in-screen fingerprint scanner.
Battery and Display
In contrast, the OnePlus 13 boasts a quad-curved OLED display that offers an impressive 2K resolution and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor. The Chinese variant of the OnePlus 13 comes with a 6,000mAh battery, while the 13R is expected to have a slightly larger battery at 6,400mAh.
