Nubia Z70 Ultra Launch Date Revealed: ZTE’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Flagship

ZTE has officially launched its new flagship smartphone, which it describes as having 'groundbreaking' features that result in an innovative and powerful device. As hinted in pre-launch teasers, the device is the Nubia Z70 Ultra, succeeding the summer's Nubia Z60 Ultra Leading Version, which currently retails for $849 on Amazon.

Powerful Performance

The Nubia Z70 Ultra features Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. It is powered by a robust 6,150 mAh silicon-carbon (Si/C) battery. Furthermore, it sports an AMOLED display measuring 6.85 inches, offering a resolution of 1.5K (1,216 x 2,688), a refresh rate of 144 Hz, and an impressive peak brightness of 2,000 nits. Notably, the device includes a 16 MP under-display camera, enhancing the feel of a seamless and nearly bezel-less screen.

Camera Features

While the 1.25 mm thick bezels might be a discussion point for any modern smartphone, the Nubia Z70 Ultra also has a standout primary camera with a 35 mm full-frame equivalent focal length and a variable f/1.59-f/4 aperture. In addition, ZTE offers a 50 MP sensor derived from Sony IMX906, complemented by a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 64 MP periscope telephoto camera, with equivalent focal lengths of 13 mm and 85 mm, respectively. This time, ZTE has also added a dedicated camera shutter button.

Availability and Pricing

At the moment, the Nubia Z70 Ultra is exclusive to China, where it will launch today, starting at CNY 4,599 (about $635) for the version with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. ZTE is providing various memory configurations in its home market. Additionally, the company has announced that the Nubia Z70 Ultra will become available globally on November 26. While full pricing details are not yet available, users can register on Nubia's website to receive a $50 coupon towards purchasing a Z70 Ultra.
