New IKEA Home Smart App Now Available for Apple Watch

A new release of the IKEA Home Smart app for Apple Watch seems to have come out. This app lets people control their smart home devices that are linked to the IKEA Dirigera hub from a distance. Previously, the app was only accessible for users of iOS and Android smartphones.

Recent Updates

Users have recently mentioned the Apple Watch app after version 1.43.0 of the IKEA Home Smart app was launched. Yet, the change log does not include any details about the new features for the Apple Watch. It’s possible that these features are still being tested, and an official announcement might be made in the next update.

User Experience

Screenshots found on the Apple App Store reveal that Apple Watch users can navigate through cards associated with different rooms directly from the home screen. Each card shows icons that represent the smart devices in the corresponding areas. Users can activate Scenes like Calm Wake Up and have the ability to manage smart bulbs, lamps, blinds, and speakers individually. For instance, you can now change the brightness or color of smart lights right from your wrist.

Compatibility and Availability

It’s important to mention that the IKEA Home Smart app for Apple Watch needs watchOS 10.6 or later. This means the app is suitable for Apple Watch Series 4 and newer models, including the popular Series 10 (GPS, 46mm, currently priced at $359 on Amazon). You can download version 1.43.0 of the IKEA Home Smart App from the Apple App Store.
