New Co-Op RPG Features Seamless Crafting and Flying Turtle HQ

Cloudheim marks the first venture by Noodle Cat Games, a studio created by ex-developers from companies like Epic Games, BioWare, and Electronic Arts. The team carries impressive experience from popular games such as Fortnite, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Infinity Blade, ensuring they have the skills to create a remarkable game.

Gameplay Features

This cooperative RPG allows up to four players to team up. It emphasizes quick-paced combat, ever-changing dungeons, and a one-of-a-kind crafting system that doesn’t rely on menus. Players can create weapons and gear directly within the game world, allowing for seamless action. The first look at gameplay was shared in the announcement trailer on February 6.

Visual Style and Narrative

Cloudheim boasts a charming aesthetic reminiscent of the Zelda series. Its world, inspired by mythology, has also been likened to Immortals: Fenyx Rising. Although there is limited information about the storyline, the main plot focuses on bringing together separated realms.

Unique Base and Community Reactions

Rather than a fixed headquarters, the game presents a mobile base known as the Odin Shell, which is a giant flying turtle that acts as the players’ hub. This base can be customized and expanded, with early indications suggesting modular upgrades like workshops and living spaces.

Discussions surrounding Cloudheim are gaining traction on Reddit, eliciting mixed responses. Many enthusiasts commend its lively art style and Nordic-themed environment, while the crafting system without menus has garnered positive feedback. Yet, some express concerns that it might not offer enough innovation to differentiate itself from well-known titles such as Valheim. A delightful revelation for fans is that Cloudheim will be released as a fully finished game instead of going through Early Access.

Cloudheim is anticipated to launch in the third quarter of 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Although a specific release date is still under wraps, eager players can already add this cooperative RPG to their Steam wishlists.
