Laptop maker TerransForce, primarily located in China, has recently shared a brief teaser video showcasing a new 18-inch gaming laptop featuring 192 GB of RAM and a 4K display. This device is expected to be officially presented at CES in January. According to the well-known leaker @94G8LA, this laptop is based on the Clevo X580 model.
Noteworthy Specifications
This news is quite captivating, especially since Clevo products are also available in Europe and the USA through independent sellers like Xotic PC and XMG. The leaker has shared a specification sheet for this laptop: measuring around 2.8 centimeters (1.10 inches) in height and weighing 3.6 kilograms (7.9 pounds), it certainly isn’t a portable gaming laptop. However, it boasts an Intel Arrow Lake-HX CPU with a PBP of 55 watts and a Nvidia GeForce RTX 5000 GPU, positioning it as potentially one of the quickest laptops available.
Potential GPU Features
While the specification sheet lacks further information on GPU choices, the top-tier model is expected to come with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU featuring 16 GB of GDDR7 VRAM. The laptop includes four M.2 2280 SSD slots, one of which connects through PCIe 5.0 x4, supports up to 192 GB of DDR5 RAM at 5,600 speed, and has an 18-inch display in a 16:10 aspect ratio, available in either 4K or 1,600p resolution. The 98 Wh battery can be charged using a hollow plug power supply rated at 330 watts or through USB-C with a maximum of 100 watts.
Connectivity and Additional Features
The Clevo X580 is well-equipped when it comes to connectivity, featuring WiFi 7, two Thunderbolt 5 ports with GPU support, HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, two USB-A ports (10 Gbit/s), Ethernet, and a headphone jack. Additionally, it has two speakers complemented by two dedicated subwoofers. To top it all off, there is a 5 MP webcam with a privacy shutter and Windows Hello support.
Details regarding the pricing of the Clevo X580 are still unknown but should be confirmed at CES at the latest.
