Honor Unveils New Products at Pre-MWC 2024 Event in Barcelona
Honor recently hosted a pre-MWC 2024 event in Barcelona, Spain, where they introduced a range of new products tailored for global markets. Among the highlights were a smartphone, foldable phones, a laptop, and a tablet. One of the standout reveals was the Honor Magic V2 RSR Porsche Design foldable phone, a result of Honor's collaboration with renowned carmaker Porsche. This global variant mirrors the model launched in China last month.
Honor Magic V2 RSR Specifications and Pricing
The Honor Magic V2 RSR boasts a distinctive dual-toned back panel featuring a triangular-shaped protruding camera island known as a flyline-like camera porthole. The back panel showcases a flyline-like body design, reminiscent of legendary sports cars, exuding a sense of sporty elegance. Design elements include a fiberglass body, sculptural texture, and titanium alloy lettering.
Display and Design Details
The foldable phone's display is equipped with anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield glass technology, touted to be ten times more wear-resistant and drop-resistant. It features a 6.43-inch cover screen and a 7.92-inch internal display, both sporting OLED panels with a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate. The external screen offers a resolution of 2376 x 1060 pixels with 2500 nits peak brightness, while the internal display boasts a pixel resolution of 2344 x 2156 pixels and a max brightness of 1600 nits.
Sleek Design and Performance
The Honor Magic V2 RSR impresses with its ultra-slim design, measuring just 9.9mm when folded and 4.7mm when unfolded. The device features a titanium hinge and a suspended water-drop support system, ensuring a seamless folding experience and a crease-free display when unfolded. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor alongside the Honor C1 RF enhancement chipset, with 16GB RAM and 1TB ROM. It runs on MagicOS, offering features like dual space and AI privacy call functionality.
Camera and Color Options
In terms of optics, the Honor Magic V2 RSR sports a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 20MP telephoto unit with 40x support. Both the internal and external screens include a 16MP front camera housed in a punch-hole cutout for selfies and video calls. Additional features like an 8×8 dToF laser focusing system, flicker sensor, and temperature sensor enhance the overall camera experience. Available in Agate Grey, the Honor Magic V2 RSR is priced at EUR 2,699 for the 16GB + 1TB configuration. Pre-orders are now open, with sales scheduled to begin on March 18.
