Motorola has disclosed the launch specifics of its latest smartphone, the Edge 50, in India. Known for its stylish design and robustness, the Edge 50 is scheduled to be available in stores on August 1st. This new model will be the fourth entry in the Motorola Edge 2024 series, following the Edge 50 Pro, Edge 50 Ultra, and Edge 50 Fusion.
Display and Performance
According to the official details revealed on its Flipkart microsite, the Edge 50 will come with a striking 6.67-inch curved OLED screen that supports 10-bit color, full DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and boasts a peak brightness of 1,900 nits.
The device will be powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition processor, complemented by a Vapor Chamber Cooling System to maintain optimal temperature during heavy usage. Despite its slim design, Motorola has managed to incorporate a 5,000mAh battery, which will support 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
Software and Security
Running on an Android 14-based operating system, the Edge 50 is confirmed to receive three years of OS updates and four years of security patches. For added security, the smartphone will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Camera and Durability
In terms of camera capabilities, Motorola has confirmed a 50 MP Sony LYT-700C primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide camera with a macro feature, and a 10MP telephoto camera capable of up to 30x digital zoom. The front camera will house a 32MP sensor.
Additionally, the Edge 50 will offer military-grade durability with a MIL-810H certification and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
