MagicX XU HD Handheld: New Rival to Anbernic RG35XX

MagicX XU HD Handheld: New Rival to Anbernic RG35XX

The MagicX XU HD gaming handheld has been introduced, and it's being promoted as a formidable contender to the Anbernic RG34. The model has already been shown in three different color options and is expected to come with a very budget-friendly price.

A possible release of MagicX’s next retro gaming handheld, the XU HD, seems to be on the horizon. Previously, the company created the MagicX XU Mini M to rival the Anbernic RG28XX and Miyoo Mini A300, although it hasn’t been launched yet. According to a tip from @forthenextlive, MagicX is actively working on the XU HD, which bears a close resemblance to the Anbernic RG35XX 2024.

Display and Design

The XU HD features a 3.2-inch 4:3 display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. If these specifications are accurate, the device will have a higher pixel density than the RG35XX, which has a 3.5-inch screen and a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels.

This upcoming retro gaming handheld does not include joysticks but is equipped with a d-pad, ABXY buttons, start/select buttons, and two pairs of shoulder buttons. Additionally, it is rumored to omit Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity to keep costs low.

Operating System and Performance

The MagicX XU HD will operate on the MagicX OS, which is based on Linux, and it will feature an A9 architecture Chinese chip. The device is capable of emulating well-known retro games from platforms like the Nintendo DS, Nintendo 64, and PlayStation 1. Although there is no official release date yet, it is speculated that the XU HD will be priced around $40.
