Logitech Spot mmWave Radar: 4-Year Battery for Covert Monitoring

The Logitech Spot is mainly a mmWave radar that acts as a presence sensor. According to Logitech, this gadget helps make office spaces more efficient by automatically sensing if a space is occupied, which allows its associated software to show whether a room is free or taken.

Room Management Made Easy

When individuals enter or leave rooms, they can be marked as either reserved or available automatically. Logitech View is a program that can show the layout of a workplace, helping to maximize the use of spaces and pinpointing areas that aren’t utilized properly.

Data Collection Without Intrusion

A mmWave radar doesn’t need a direct line of sight to gather information, which means that the Logitech Spot might be able to track employees without them knowing. Nevertheless, Logitech states that the device only transmits a room’s occupancy status to its companion software, without revealing how many people are inside or what they’re doing.

Simple Setup

The Logitech Spot is easy to install on a wall due to its adhesive backing and can operate for up to four years on just one battery—there’s no need for a power cord. The device also gathers data on the environment, like temperature, humidity, CO2 levels, VOCs, and air changes, to determine if a space has issues with air quality.

Pricing and Launch Details

The Logitech Spot is expected to be available in the latter part of 2025. Though Logitech hasn’t shared any specific pricing details for the hardware, accessing all its functionalities will require a subscription that costs either $199 or $399 per year, depending on the chosen plan.
