The Leica Cine Play 1 home cinema projector has just made its debut. This new gadget is called a mini-projector and comes in at dimensions of 242 x 261 x 229 mm (10.3 x 9.5 x 9.0 inches). Its design is inspired by Bauhaus architecture, and it rests on a tilting base that lets you modify the angle of projection whenever needed.
Impressive Specifications
Marketed as a 4K projector, the Cine Play 1 actually achieves a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 px through a technique called pixel-shifting. This DLP projector features an RGB laser light source that can reach brightness levels of up to 3,000 lumens and can project images as large as 300 inches. Additionally, it boasts a dynamic contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, more than 100% coverage of the BT.2020 color space, and compatibility with Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HLG. The device runs on the VIDAA U7.6 OS, letting users access popular streaming services like Netflix and Disney+, and also allows for screencasting through Apple AirPlay.
Connectivity and Features
You can easily manage the projector using voice commands, and it offers multiple connection options through HDMI 2.1, USB 3.0, and S/PDIF ports. Notably, it comes with a gaming mode that features less than 12 ms latency at 1080px@120Hz and includes two built-in 10W speakers.
