During the 2024 Paris Olympics, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun traveled to France and engaged with some Xiaomi enthusiasts. One of the fans inquired whether it would be possible to purchase the Xiaomi SU7 in France before 2030.
In reply, Lei Jun stated: "Our objective is to be among the top five globally, so we will definitely expand internationally at the right time."
Xiaomi Motors' First Electric Vehicle
Xiaomi Motors launched its debut electric vehicle in March this year. The Xiaomi SU7 is described as a "C-class high-performance ecological technology sedan" and is available in dual-motor and single-motor versions. There are also two battery options: 73.6 kWh and 101 kWh. The car is priced between 215,900 yuan ($29,736) and 299,900 yuan ($41,307).
For those who may not know, the company sold over 10,000 electric vehicles in June and has increased production to reduce wait times. In June, Xiaomi announced the implementation of a double-shift schedule to meet demand. The monthly delivery target is 10,000 units, and the ambitious long-term goal for 2024 is to sell over 100,000 units within the year.
Production and Delivery Goals
With enhanced production capacity and expedited deliveries of the Xiaomi SU7, more than 30,000 units have already been delivered. A report suggests that the 100,000-unit delivery target could be achieved by November this year. Additionally, Xiaomi plans to open 220 new stores in 59 cities across China.
