Last week, insider Smart Pikachu suggested that the OnePlus Ace 5 series would be unveiled in November. He also mentioned that the Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro are set to compete directly with the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro smartphones, which are also anticipated for release around the same time. Today, tipster Digital Chat Station shared important details about the OnePlus devices on Weibo.
Key Specifications and Features
Based on the leak, the Ace 5 is expected to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, while the Ace 5 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Consequently, both phones are poised to challenge the Redmi K80 and K80 Pro, which are also rumored to come with similar chipsets.
Both the OnePlus Ace 5 and Ace 5 Pro are reported to have high-density silicon batteries with a capacity of approximately 6,000mAh. They will feature a customized BOE X2 8T LTPO panel, providing a 1.5K resolution on a flat screen with ultra-thin bezels along all edges. To enhance durability, these devices will incorporate a right-angled metal middle frame.
Camera and Design
The Ace 5 series is anticipated to include a 50-megapixel triple-camera system, excluding a periscope lens. For security, both models will offer an ultra-thin optical fingerprint sensor. An earlier leak suggested that the Ace 5 Pro will boast a ceramic body.
Market Positioning
There is speculation that the OnePlus Ace 5 might be rebranded as the OnePlus 13R for the international market. Meanwhile, the Ace 5 Pro may continue to be exclusive to the Chinese market.
