iQOO Introduces 2160HZ PWM Dimming Feature on iQOO 12 and iQOO Neo 9 Devices

The iQOO 12 series and iQOO Neo 9 series, the latest flagship smartphone lineups from iQOO, have been praised for their eye-friendly displays. These devices offer a different set of features to cater to various audiences, but their panels have one thing in common - support for high-frequency PWM dimming. Interestingly, this feature has only been enabled recently.

iQOO Enables 2160Hz PWM Dimming

iQOO took to Weibo to announce that both the iQOO 12 series and the iQOO Neo 9 series now support 2160Hz PWM dimming. This feature is available on the latest firmware for these handsets. Once enabled from the 'Developer options', users can enjoy a flicker-free experience at screen brightness levels ranging from 2 to 600 nits.

Availability of the Feature

Out of the four phones in these lineups, only the vanilla iQOO 12 has been released in global markets. It is uncertain whether this feature is currently available outside of mainland China. However, users in China can now benefit from the enhanced display experience on both the iQOO 12 and iQOO Neo 9.

Display Specifications of iQOO 12 Series

The iQOO 12 series boasts a 6.78-inch centered punch-hole OLED display. The flat panel on the standard iQOO 12 model offers a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels (1.5K) with a pixel density of 452 PPI. On the other hand, the pro variant features a curved screen with a higher resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels and a sharper pixel density of 517 PPI. Both displays support a refresh rate of up to 144Hz (LTPO) and a 10-bit color depth. Additionally, they can achieve a maximum local brightness level of 3000 nits.
