iQOO 13 Design Unveiled: Official Look at the New Smartphone

We have seen numerous leaks and speculations regarding the upcoming iQOO flagship, the iQOO 13. As the launch date approaches, the company has taken matters into their own hands. A company executive has previously disclosed that the device will feature the self-developed Supercomputing Chip Q2, paired with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The most recent teaser reveals the iQOO 13 in an official image displaying flat sides and a small cutout for the selfie camera.

Design Differences

In contrast, the iQOO 12 has a more prominent camera cutout at the front and a slightly thicker chin. This time, it appears that iQOO is offering a fully symmetrical bezel, which is an improvement. Supporting earlier rumors, the executive confirmed that the phone will have a 2K OLED display secured by a metal middle frame.

Launch Date and Global Availability

The device is set to be launched in China on December 9, alongside OriginOS 5. This follows the launch of the vivo X200 series devices on October 14. Interestingly, the global version of the iQOO 13 has already been detected in the IMEI database, hinting at a possible release in the global market around Q4 2024 or early Q1 2025.

Rumored Specifications

To power the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, the device is said to be equipped with a substantial 6100mAh battery, supporting 100W PPS and PD charging. Despite its large capacity, the phone remains at just 8.1mm thick, which is the same as the iQOO 12, thanks to advanced silicon-anode battery technology.

For those who might not know, USB PD is a universal charging standard, meaning that users can enjoy fast charging speeds without needing the specific adapter that the company includes in the box.

Camera Features

When it comes to photography, it features three 50MP cameras on the rear – the Sony IMX921 as the main sensor, the Samsung ISOCELL JN1 for ultrawide shots, and the IMX826 for 2x telephoto capabilities.

The device is also expected to upgrade to a new display panel that is 10% more energy efficient compared to the QOO 12’s display. Additionally, it will boast an enhanced IP68 rating (an improvement from IP64 on its predecessor), providing flagship-level ingress protection. In terms of configuration options, it may offer up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
