Minisforum has introduced its latest compact workstation computer, the UM790 XTX. This new miniature PC from Minisforum boasts exceptional features, notably the overclocked AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS CPU, along with support for USB4 and OCuLink to accommodate a Pro GPU card.
Enhanced Features
The Minisforum UM790 XTX comes equipped with a display stand, ensuring stability during operation. Compared to its predecessor, the UM780 XTX, the UM790 XTX stands out as a more robust model. The Minisforum UM780 XTX is currently recognized as The King of the Mini PC. Although initially announced in 2023, the new model is now hitting the market in China.

The AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS processor in the UM790 XTX can achieve a clock speed of up to 70W TDP, surpassing the AMD default of 45W by 25W. Notable connectivity options include two USB4 (Alt PD) ports, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, HDMI, DisplayPort, an audio jack, two Rj45 2.5G network ports, and an OCuLink port for Pro GPU card connections. The device also features an enhanced active cooling system to maintain optimal temperatures, even during demanding tasks. Additionally, the mini PC sports a magnetic top cover with backlight and RGB lighting.
Pricing and Configurations
Memory and storage configurations for the Minisforum UM790 XTX range from 16/32/64GB RAM to 512GB/1TB/2TB SSD. The barebones variant of the mini PC starts at 3,299 yuan ($455), while the storage-inclusive model has a base price of 3,999 yuan ($552).
