Huawei recently unveiled their Pura 70 series to replace their P series phones; however, reports indicate production challenges could limit availability especially of their Pura 70 Pro variant.
Pro Version Shortage: Huawei Facing Production Issues with Pura 70 Series
On April 15th, Huawei launched a promotional campaign on their official Weibo account with teaser videos of an upcoming Pura series device - details are scarce but these teasers show an eye-catching design. Huawei CEO Richard Yu also hinted of good news and indicated an imminent launch, suggesting its development may soon commence.
Inside information suggests that production capacity issues might result in reduced availability for Pro and Ultra models from the Pura 70 lineup, particularly at digital chat Station where there was evidence of an obvious supply-demand gap for that series.
Pura 70 Pro+ models should have more readily available stock, potentially including FreeBuds 5 earbuds in their Deluxe editions. By contrast, Pura 70 Pro variant may become harder to obtain upon its launch date.
Pura 70 Ultra buyers face more complications; sources have speculated of an absence of pre-order batches at launch due to extremely limited supplies.
Reports indicate that Huawei-authorized stores in Guangzhou and Shenzhen have initiated "blind box reservations." As distributors are uncertain regarding offline stocking schedules for offline outlets, adding another layer of uncertainty. Leaks suggest an expected launch before April ends - possibly as early as April 18th!
Leaks suggest the Pura 70 series will feature 12GB-16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage, along with its distinctive triangular rear camera setup. For an in-depth explanation of their specifications please read our detailed explainer article.
