After the successful launch in China, Huawei has discreetly introduced the Pura 70 series in Malaysia, comprising the Pura 70, Pura 70 Pro, and the premium Pura 70 Ultra models. Let's delve into the specifics.

Price and Availability

Each model is available in a single RAM and storage configuration. The Pura 70, with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, is priced at RM3,699, while the Pura 70 Pro, offering 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, costs RM4,899. The top-tier Pura 70 Ultra, equipped with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, is priced at RM6,599.

Color Options and Pre-orders

Color options vary across the models, with the Pura 70 available in Black, White, or Pink, the Pura 70 Pro in Black or White, and the Pura 70 Ultra featuring a vegan leather back in Black, Brown, or Green. Pre-orders for the Huawei Pura 70 series are open from May 2nd to May 24th, 2024, in Malaysia. Customers can pre-order by paying a non-refundable deposit of RM70 on Huawei Malaysia’s website or at Huawei Experience Stores.

Huawei Pura 70 Series Specifications

The Pura 70 Ultra and Pro models boast a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2,500 nits peak brightness, while the standard Pura 70 features a slightly smaller 6.6-inch screen. All three phones are IP68-rated for dust and water resistance.

Powering the devices, the Pura 70 runs on a Kirin 900S1 chip, while the Ultra and Pro models are equipped with Huawei’s latest Kirin 9010 chip. They all run on EMUI 14.2, replacing HarmonyOS found on the Chinese variants.

In terms of battery capacity, the Pura 70 Ultra boasts a 5,200mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging, 80W wireless charging, and 20W reverse wireless charging. The Pura 70 Pro features a slightly smaller 5,050mAh battery with similar charging capabilities, while the standard Pura 70 is equipped with a 4,900mAh battery supporting 66W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 7.5W reverse wireless charging.

The camera setups differ significantly across the models. The Pura 70 Ultra stands out with a unique configuration, including a large 1-inch 50MP primary camera with a retractable lens, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS, and a 40MP ultra-wide lens with autofocus.

On the other hand, the Pura 70 Pro features a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 48MP telephoto lens with OIS and 3.5x optical zoom, and a 12.5MP ultra-wide lens. The standard Pura 70 shares the same 50MP main sensor as the Pro but with a different telephoto lens setup - a 12MP periscope lens with OIS and 5x optical zoom - and a 13MP ultra-wide lens.
