Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 Launches with First 2.3Mb/s Lossless Audio

The FreeBuds Pro 4 have a compact design, resembling their predecessors, but they sport a fresh Silver String style that showcases the new Huawei Sound emblem.

Sound Quality Innovations

According to the manufacturer, this logo symbolizes advanced TrueSound driver technology and planar diaphragm features that aim to deliver a more "genuine" and immersive audio experience. The earbuds promise impressive bass down to 14 hertz (Hz) and include a "triple-adaptive EQ algorithm" that adjusts according to the earbuds' placement in your ears in real-time.

Expert Fine-Tuning

These Pro 4 earbuds are tuned by specialists from music conservatories, and they boast "remarkable" Intelligent Dynamic ANC, complemented by "three-layer" memory foam ear tips for comfort.

Moreover, they can transmit 48kHz/24-bit Hi-Res lossless audio at a speed of 2.3Mb/s, which is notably higher than the average high-end wireless earphones that typically operate at 1.5Mb/s, as claimed by Huawei. However, this impressive feature is only functional when paired with the latest Mate X6 foldable smartphone.

Connectivity and Design

Huawei hasn’t mentioned HarmonyOS NEXT on their global product page, but these earbuds support Dual Device Connections. They come with a case that has a "more durable and impact resistant than ever" ceramic finish, allowing the FreeBuds Pro 4 to last up to 33 hours on a single charge.

Despite these advanced features, the earbuds still utilize the older Bluetooth 5.2 standard and are rated IP54 for limited dust and water resistance. Notably, the case itself lacks any IP rating.

In conclusion, Huawei has not yet announced the global pricing for the new wireless earbuds, but currently, the FreeBuds Pro 3 are available on Amazon for $184.90.
