Honor Watch 5 with Satellite Connectivity Passes TENAA Certification

Honor has gotten a new smartwatch approved, known as model TUR-L19, in China, which hints at a launch very soon. This device seems to be an enhanced version of the Honor Watch 5, first launched last year alongside the Honor Magic 7 smartphones.

Features and Specifications

Based on the TENAA certification database and insights from tipster @WangzaiKnowsEverything, the TUR-L19 smartwatch brings in satellite communication support, which works with eSIM services from China Mobile and China Unicom. It has a circular look and comes with a 480mAh battery that supports wireless charging. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and Beidou.

Although specific information about hardware and software upgrades compared to the Honor Watch 5 is still unknown, it is expected to provide a more polished and sophisticated user experience.

Honor Watch 5 Overview

The Honor Watch 5 sports a 1.85-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 450 × 390 and a 60Hz refresh rate, all while weighing only 35g thanks to its aluminum alloy and reinforced polymer fiber construction. One of its key features, the Honor Polaris positioning system, allows for standalone GPS capabilities that include BeiDou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and QZSS, which guarantees precise tracking even in crowded city settings.

In terms of health tracking, it monitors heart rate, blood oxygen levels, stress, sleep, and includes advanced heart health features. The watch supports eSIM for calls, notifications from two phones simultaneously, and LTE connectivity. It also has Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and an IP68 water resistance rating. With a 480mAh battery, the watch can last up to 15 days in Bluetooth mode, 10 days in eSIM dual-terminal mode, and 3 days in independent eSIM mode. Additionally, it offers 97 sports modes, an AI fat reduction assistant, and over 5000 watch face designs.
