It appears that HMD may be planning to introduce a more upscale version of a smartphone launched earlier this year. Specifically, a source known as @smashx_60 claims that HMD has been working on the Vibe Pro, which would be positioned above the Vibe (currently priced at $149.99 on Amazon) in their latest lineup.
Similarities and Upgrades
The differences between the two models might not be drastic. To start with the similarities, @smashx_60 states that the Vibe Pro will feature a 6.56-inch IPS display with a 90 Hz refresh rate, which is identical to the Vibe. However, HMD is reportedly increasing the display resolution from 720p to 1080p. Additionally, while the Vibe Pro is expected to use the same Snapdragon 680 processor as the standard Vibe, it will come with 33% more RAM.
Enhanced Features
Moreover, HMD Global is rumored to pair 8 GB of RAM with a 5,000 mAh battery, representing a 25% improvement over the non-Pro variant. Furthermore, @smashx_60 believes the Vibe Pro will boast a 50 MP main camera, a 2 MP secondary camera, and a 50 MP front-facing camera. Currently, the source indicates that HMD Global plans to launch the Vibe Pro in North America for approximately $179, though the exact release date is still uncertain.North America for approximately $179
