Hisense S7N Canvas TV: Affordable Alternative to Samsung’s The Frame

The Hisense S7N Canvas TV has been introduced as a competitor to Samsung’s The Frame TV. This new TV model from Hisense displays artwork when it detects someone in the room. Operating on Google TV, the S7N Canvas TV doubles as wall art when it’s not being used. This innovative TV is now available in the United States.

The Hisense S7N Canvas TV, initially announced a few months ago, features a matte screen and an Art Mode that turns it into an artwork display when idle. This concept has been famously popularized by Samsung’s The Frame TV. The Hisense model was introduced in two sizes: 55 inches and 65 inches. Currently, the 65-inch version is available for purchase on Amazon and Best Buy.

Design and Features

The S7N Canvas TV comes with a teak frame, and there are optional magnetic frames in various colors for customization. It boasts a 4K QLED display and a 144Hz Game Mode Pro with a variable refresh rate ranging from 48Hz to 144Hz. The TV provides multi-channel surround sound and includes an RGB light sensor that automatically adjusts the color temperature and screen brightness based on the ambient light. Additionally, it is equipped with a motion detector to control the display of artworks when it senses presence in the room.

Connectivity and Controls

The TV includes four HDMI ports, two USB ports, an RCA composite video input, and an RF antenna port. Two of the HDMI ports are version 2.1. It also comes with a backlit voice remote control.

Pricing & Availability

The Hisense S7N Canvas TV is priced at $999 for the 55-inch model and $1,299.99 for the 65-inch model. In comparison, Samsung’s The Frame TV is currently priced at $1,500 and $1,999 for the 55-inch and 65-inch versions, respectively. There is no current information on the cost of personalized frames for the S7N Canvas TV.
