GoPro has officially announced the release date for its upcoming line of action cameras, following a series of leaks. A teaser video shared on the company’s X/Twitter account indicates that the unveiling of two new Hero models will take place on September 4th.
Sneak Peek at the GoPro Hero 13 Black
This announcement coincides with a leaked hands-on video from tipster Igor Bogdanov, providing a glimpse of the GoPro Hero 13 Black design.
The video reveals a front-mounted display featuring “13 BLACK” branding, along with a familiar Power/Mode button next to the camera sensor and heatsink.
Expected Specifications and Features
According to leaks, the Hero 13 Black is anticipated to have the same 27MP sensor as its predecessor. The video capabilities are expected to be similar, offering 5.3K at 60 FPS and 4K at 120 FPS. It will likely continue to feature HyperSmooth 6.0 image stabilization and HDR from the Hero 12 Black.
A major update this year seems to be a larger 1,900 mAh battery, replacing the 1,720 mAh unit found in the Hero 12 Black. Additionally, GoPro is expected to enhance its accessory lineup with new options like a macro and an ultra-wide lens attachment, a Floaty accessory, and a protective sleeve.
Mystery Surrounding the Second Camera
The details about the second GoPro camera remain largely undisclosed. It is speculated to be a follow-up to the GoPro 11 Mini, with HyperSmooth stabilization and slow-motion video capabilities.
With the official launch just two days away, further details about both Hero action cameras will soon be revealed. However, it is still uncertain whether September 4th marks the actual release date or merely the unveiling.
