HMD Global is gearing up to unveil its upcoming mid-range smartphone, codenamed “Orka,” which has recently been leaked, revealing an eye-catching design and exciting specifications. Well-known leaker @smashx_60, who has a history of providing accurate information on HMD’s product plans, has released the first images and details about the device, giving us a sneak peek into what it might offer.
HMD Orka's Design and Specs (Rumored)
The HMD “Orka” showcases a more classic design compared to the prior model, the HMD Skyline. The leaked photos display a combination of blue, green, and purple shades on the back, making it stand out visually.
On its rear, the “Orka” is expected to feature a 108 MP main camera, as indicated by the markings on the camera module. There is speculation regarding a secondary lens, which might be an ultrawide or macro camera, although this hasn’t been confirmed yet. On the front, a 50 MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture is set to deliver sharp and lively selfies. Notably, the HMD Skyline also has a 50 MP front camera.
Display and Performance
The device boasts a 6.78-inch IPS display, offering a resolution of 1080p+ and a fluid 120 Hz refresh rate. This marks a shift from the Skyline’s p-OLED panel and its smaller 6.55-inch size. While the switch to an IPS display suggests that the “Orka” may have a more budget-friendly approach, the larger screen and high refresh rate ensure a strong viewing experience within its price range.
Internally, the smartphone is likely to come with an ARM-based Qualcomm processor with built-in 5G capabilities, alongside 8 GB of RAM. It will be powered by a battery that supports 33W fast charging through USB-C, allowing for speedy recharges for users who are always on the move.

HMD Global seems to aim for affordability with the “Orka.” In comparison to the HMD Skyline, which is priced at Rs 35,999 in India (£329.99 internationally) and features a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip along with a triple-camera system, the “Orka” is expected to be priced lower. The absence of a telephoto lens and the use of an IPS display further reinforce this expectation.
