China Launches ZTE U50 Pro and F50 5G Portable WiFi Year of the Dragon Commemorative Editions

This year, 2024, is considered the Year of the Dragon according to the Chinese zodiac. To celebrate this auspicious year, ZTE has launched two commemorative smartphones: the ZTE U50 Pro and the F50 5G portable WIFI. These devices have been unveiled in China and feature a customized dragon pattern engraved on their bodies.

ZTE U50 Pro: A Powerful and Connected Smartphone

The ZTE U50 Pro comes with a 2.4-inch touchscreen and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X62 chip. It supports 5G dual-mode and global roaming, making it compatible with networks in over 100 countries and regions worldwide. The U50 Pro also supports 5G NR network carrier aggregation and low-frequency ENDC technologies.

Connectivity-wise, the U50 Pro supports WiFi 6, enabling a peak rate of 3,600Mbps and allowing up to 64 device connections. The phone is equipped with a 10,000mAh battery that supports up to 27W charging. With its long-lasting battery life, the U50 Pro can sustain the device for up to 16 hours. Additionally, it supports NFC one-touch networking for mobile phones and can even be used as a power bank with up to 18W output.

ZTE F50: Slim and Versatile

The ZTE F50 boasts an ultra-thin body with dimensions of 78 x 62.8 x 10.3 mm and weighs only about 50g. Similar to the U50 Pro, it supports 5G dual-mode and offers multi-device connection capabilities. The F50 is compatible with SA+NSA networks and the sub-6GHz frequency band, achieving a peak rate DL of 1.6Gbps. It also supports multiple power supply methods and can be connected to a Notebook via USB 3.0 Type-C interface. Moreover, it can connect to charging heads, car mounts, power banks, and other power inputs, while also functioning as a WiFi hotspot.

The F50 is equipped with an 8-core processor and supports connections for up to 10 devices. It can also be used as a TF card reader and supports WiFi 5, with optional 2.4G/5G dual band connectivity.

Pricing and Availability

The ZTE U50 Pro is priced at 1,599 yuan ($226), while the F50 5G is available for 499 yuan ($70). In China, the ZTE F50 is offered with various data packages, including single-month, monthly fixed, long-term, overlay packages, and a 1000G package. The prices of these packages range from 99 yuan ($14) to 699 yuan ($99). Unfortunately, there is no information available yet regarding the global availability of these new ZTE commemorative models.
