Meizu 21 Pro Receives Certification, Suggesting Imminent Release
Meizu, the popular Chinese smartphone manufacturer, recently launched its flagship smartphone, the Meizu 21, in November. However, fans were left wondering about the absence of the Pro version during the initial announcement. But now, there's good news for those eagerly awaiting the Meizu 21 Pro as it has secured approval from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), indicating that its release is just around the corner.
Two Variants Get Clearance
The Meizu 21 Pro will be available in two variants: the M481Q and M481S. These models have recently received clearance from the CMIIT authority, as shown in the screenshots above. While the certification suggests that the launch of the Meizu 21 Pro in China is imminent, details about the device's specifications are still shrouded in secrecy.
Expected Features
Similar to the standard Meizu 21 model, the Pro variant is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Additionally, there are strong indications that the Meizu 21 Pro will feature a larger 2K resolution display. The Meizu 21 boasts a 6.55-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution, so it's highly probable that the Pro version will offer an even more immersive viewing experience.
Enhanced Battery and Camera
One of the key differences between the Meizu 21 and the Pro variant is expected to be the battery capacity. The Meizu 21 is equipped with a 4,800mAh battery that supports 80W charging. In contrast, the Meizu 21 Pro is likely to house a larger 5,020mAh battery with support for 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Moreover, while the Meizu 21 lacks a telephoto camera, the Pro variant is expected to come with this additional camera feature. The Meizu 20 Pro featured three 50-megapixel rear-facing cameras, one of which was a telephoto camera with optical zoom support. It seems likely that the Pro version will continue this trend of offering enhanced photography capabilities.
Release Date Uncertain
While it remains uncertain whether the Meizu 21 Pro will debut this month in China, there is a possibility that it may be released in January 2024 if it does not happen sooner.
