  • MSI Launches 4K Dual Mode Gaming Monitor with 320Hz Refresh Rate

MSI Launches 4K Dual Mode Gaming Monitor with 320Hz Refresh Rate

A few months ago, Asus launched its first dual-mode IPS gaming monitor, the ROG Strix XG27UCG, which is currently priced at $499.99 on Amazon. While other brands have released many gaming monitors since then, Asus was the pioneer in offering a similar 32-inch model named the ROG Strix XG32UCG.

    MSI’s New Entry

MSI seems to have entered the competition with its own version, but so far, it’s only available in China. The MAG 321CUPDF is capable of natively displaying at 4K and 160 Hz. If you lower the resolution to 1080p, the monitor can push its refresh rate up to a staggering 320 Hz. Furthermore, the MAG 321CUPDF features 0.5 ms GtG response times and a contrast ratio of 3,000:1, thanks to its use of VA panel technology.

    Impressive Specs

On top of that, this monitor provides 93% Adobe RGB color coverage, 350 nits peak brightness for SDR, and 400 nits for HDR, earning it VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification. Additionally, MSI has equipped the MAG 321CUPDF with two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4a connection, and a USB Type-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, though it only offers 15 W Power Delivery.

    Future Plans

For those interested, Asus is expected to reveal more information about the ROG Strix XG32UCG next month at CES 2025. In comparison, MSI has already priced the MAG 321CUPDF at CNY 2,999 (approximately $413) in China. Sadly, there has been no announcement regarding when it will be available internationally.

This display offers a Quad HD resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, along with a 16:9 aspect ratio and an impressive refresh rate of 360Hz, ensuring exceptionally smooth gameplay. Moreover, it boasts a lightning-fast response time of just 0.03ms.

    Panel and Color Performance

The PGO27QFV utilizes Samsung’s QD-OLED technology to provide 138% sRGB and 99% DCI-P3 color coverage, which enhances the overall image quality. It supports HDR standards, including DisplayHDR 400 True Black and HDR10, which will deliver remarkable contrast and deep blacks, alongside a static contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1. The monitor can reach peak brightness levels of up to 1000 nits.

    Ergonomic Design Features

In terms of design, ergonomics are essential, featuring height adjustments of up to 100mm, options to tilt forward and backward, and swivel capabilities of 20 degrees. To enhance comfort during extended use, the screen has an anti-glare matte coating, making it suitable for various lighting conditions. It also supports VESA mounting (100x100mm) for attaching to walls or arms.

    Connectivity and Comfort

For connectivity, the monitor includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, a single DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB Type-C upstream port that supports 15W power delivery. Additionally, it features a headphone jack and an integrated Wi-Fi antenna cable, which is a rarity among monitors. TÜV Rheinland-certified flicker-free technology and low blue light settings are designed to minimize eye strain during long gaming sessions.

Weighing just 5.4kg and finished in black, the ASRock PGO27QFV appears to cater well to the gaming audience. However, the company has yet to announce the pricing or availability of this gaming monitor, leaving us in suspense about when it will be available for purchase.

  • MSI MPG 321URX: New White OLED Gaming Monitor Launched

MSI MPG 321URX: New White OLED Gaming Monitor Launched

MSI has introduced a new gaming monitor to the world, highlighting its ‘stunning silver-white design’. In the accompanying press release, the company elaborates on the monitor in an interesting way:

    Designed for Gamers

This 32-inch display is perfect for gamers who appreciate both top-notch performance and stylish aesthetics. It blends power with elegance, making it a great match for high-end white custom PCs or the PS5. This monitor sets a new standard for luxury gaming setups, and it’s truly a work of art that showcases advanced technology alongside beautiful design.

    Previous Launch

Although MSI doesn’t mention it in their press release, the MPG 321URXW actually made its first appearance last month in China. It’s essentially an update to the MPG 321URX (currently priced at $924.99 on Amazon) that has been available throughout this year. Thus, the MPG 321URXW features a 31.5-inch QD-OLED panel from Samsung Display, which offers a 4K resolution paired with a 240 Hz refresh rate.

    Technical Specs

However, achieving both 4K and 240 Hz requires the use of Display Stream Compression (DSC), unlike the MPG 322URX that MSI displayed in China earlier this month. Currently, no consumer graphics card supports DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20, meaning that the MPG 322URX also needs DSC for 4K/240 Hz content, similar to the MPG 321URXW.

Additionally, the MPG 321URXW provides impressive specs like 0.03 ms GtG response times, 250 nits SDR, and peak brightness of 1,000 nits HDR, along with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to minimize image tearing. In essence, the only distinguishing factor between the MPG 321URXW and the MPG 321URX is the white casing. Nevertheless, MSI has priced the MPG 321URXW at $1,099, which is $150 more than the MSRP of the MPG 321URX.

  • 75-Inch Samsung Q60D 4K QLED TV Under $900 for Cyber Monday

75-Inch Samsung Q60D 4K QLED TV Under $900 for Cyber Monday

When you’re searching for big-screen TVs, finding a balance between quality and price can be difficult. The Samsung Q60D 75-inch QLED TV presents a good option for those who want to enhance their home viewing experience without spending too much. It is currently on sale for $897.99 on Amazon, thanks to a Cyber Monday promotion, which is one of the best prices we’ve observed for this 2024 model.

    Display Features

The Samsung Q60D is equipped with a 4K QLED display that uses Quantum Dot tech to deliver bright colors and an impressive 100% color volume. The Dual LED backlight on the screen enhances contrast by adjusting tones based on what’s being shown. Nevertheless, with a refresh rate of 60Hz and no HDMI 2.1 support, it falls short for gamers looking for features like VRR (Variable Refresh Rate).

    Versatile Usage

This television works well for various activities, from streaming HDR films to navigating apps via Samsung’s Tizen OS. The Object Tracking Sound Lite feature adds to the experience by providing sound that aligns with what’s happening on-screen. Plus, Samsung’s Motion Xcelerator aims to enhance the smoothness of fast-paced scenes.

    Drawbacks to Consider

However, there are some downsides to the Q60D. Its narrow viewing angles can cause a loss in picture quality when viewed from the sides, and HDR content doesn’t shine as much due to its limited brightness and contrast capabilities. Rtings.com gives the TV a 7.1 rating for mixed usage, highlighting its solid SDR brightness and easy-to-use interface but criticizing it for missing advanced local dimming and high-performance gaming features.

With a current price of $897.99, this is not only the best deal of the year but also ties its all-time low, according to camelcamelcamel data. If you need a 75-inch QLED TV that performs adequately for casual watching and some gaming, the Samsung Q60D at this price is a solid option. Just keep in mind that this TV is designed more for everyday use than for serious gaming or high-end HDR experiences.
