    Asus has now provided complete specifications for the PG27UCDM, which utilizes the same panel found in the MSI MPG 272URX QD-OLED and the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 G81SF, both of which were also announced today. This new monitor is essentially a compact version of last year’s ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM, currently priced at $1,199 on Amazon. The PG27UCDM features a Gen 4 QD-OLED panel that enhances text clarity with a pixel density of 166 PPI.

    Features and Performance

    Additionally, Asus asserts that this monitor experiences 20% less flicker compared to Gen 3 QD-OLED panels. The maximum SDR brightness is still capped at 250 nits. The ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM boasts an impressive 0.03 ms GtG response time and supports both AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-SYNC to reduce screen tearing. The monitor now includes a DisplayPort 2.1a connection that offers a peak bandwidth of 80 Gbps (UHBR20).

    Connectivity and Power

    This means the ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM can achieve 4K resolution at 240 Hz without needing Display Stream Compression (DSC), provided it is paired with a compatible GPU. However, it’s worth noting that neither AMD nor Nvidia has yet released a consumer graphics card that supports DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20.     The Odyssey OLED G6 G60SF replaces the older G60SD (currently priced at $699.45 on Amazon), offering a resolution of 1440p with a refresh rate of 360 Hz. In contrast, the G60SF supports a much higher refresh rate of 500 Hz while still keeping a 1440p resolution. Notably, it also comes with variable refresh rate (VRR) technology and is compatible with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-SYNC, which helps reduce image tearing.

    The G81SF and More

    On the other hand, the G81SF is among the first 27-inch QD-OLED monitors to offer 4K resolution. This gives it a pixel density of 166 PPI, paired with a refresh rate of 240 Hz, along with VRR, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and Nvidia G-SYNC support.

    In addition, Samsung has announced it will display the Smart Monitor M9 M90SF at CES 2025. As stated in its Korean-language press release, the M90SF features Tizen OS, providing Smart TV capabilities across its 32-inch OLED 4K panel, which has a refresh rate of 165 Hz.

    Moreover, the Odyssey 3D G90XF will also be showcased as a glasses-free 3D gaming monitor, which boasts a 27-inch 4K IPS panel.
