  • Nothing Reveals First Teaser for CMF Phone (2) Launch

    Key Takeaways

    1. Nothing is set to unveil the CMF Phone 2 through its budget-friendly sub-brand, with a teaser already released.
    2. The teaser hints at a single rear camera for the CMF Phone 2, which raises questions since the previous model had two cameras.
    3. Four Pokémon characters teased on social media may indicate upcoming accessories, including a smartwatch and TWS earbuds.
    4. The CMF Buds 2 Plus have been spotted with a new Smart Dial feature and specific battery capacities.
    5. Expectations for the CMF Phone 2 include a modular design and customizable back cover, similar to the CMF Phone 1.

After releasing the Phone (2a) series, Nothing appears ready to unveil the CMF Phone 2 through its budget-friendly sub-brand. They’ve shared a teaser for the forthcoming CMF smartphone, and a special microsite is currently active on Flipkart.

    A Glimpse of the Device

The teaser features the phrase “In search of the perfect shot” and shows a sneak peek of the device, displaying a camera module that seems to have a single rear camera. However, this seems doubtful since the CMF Phone 1 is equipped with two rear cameras, even though one is just a 2MP sensor.

    Possible New Accessories

Last week, Nothing teased four Pokémon characters on their social media and community page. It’s likely that Bulbasaur is the codename for the CMF Phone 2. The other three Pokémon might hint at upcoming accessories under the CMF brand that could be launched alongside the phone. This might include a smartwatch, TWS earbuds, and possibly neckband earphones.

    Audio Features

On the topic of audio devices, the CMF Buds 2 Plus recently showed up in the FCC database, featuring a new Smart Dial function. These earbuds weigh a total of 105 grams, with the charging case containing a 460mAh battery, while each earbud has a 53mAh battery.

Regarding the CMF Phone 2, there are no details yet on what features it may offer. However, if Nothing follows its usual approach, we can expect to see the modular design that was introduced with the previous model.

    Anticipated Design Elements

The standout feature of the CMF Phone 1 was its customizable back cover, which lets users attach lanyards and other accessories. We hope that Nothing keeps this distinct design in the new model, and possibly enhances it to be more modular, like providing a removable battery.

With the initial teaser released, it’s likely that Nothing will share more information soon. The launch could happen later this month or sometime early next month.

  • Samsung’s Upcoming Quad-Foldable Phone: What to Expect

Samsung’s Upcoming Quad-Foldable Phone: What to Expect

    Key Takeaways

    1. Samsung is leading in foldable technology with ambitious designs, including a quad-fold device with three hinges and four panels.
    2. The quad-fold design is still in early stages and may undergo changes; it reflects Samsung’s strategic planning for future technology readiness.
    3. A tri-fold device has also been patented, featuring three panels, two hinges, and a triple-camera system, hinting at practical advancements.
    4. Samsung has a competitive edge over rivals like Apple, having invested in foldables for over six years, starting with the Galaxy Z Fold.
    5. No confirmed release dates are available for the tri-fold or quad-fold devices, with availability potentially limited to specific regions like China and South Korea.

Samsung has become a leader in book-style and clamshell designs, and now they are exploring foldable and rollable ideas. A recent patent has surfaced showing a particularly ambitious design: a quad-fold device featuring three hinges and four panels, pushing the limits of foldable technology.

    Innovative Design Details

This patent, named “ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING BENDABLE DISPLAY,” illustrates a gadget with four horizontal panels connected by three hinges, all beneath one flexible screen. Sketches suggest that this could be a quad-fold smartphone, which is Samsung’s most daring concept yet. However, it’s still in the early stages; this might just be a preliminary design, possibly undergoing changes, or even a strategic move to secure the idea for a future when the technology is more ready and market demand rises.

    Tri-Fold Device Insights

The application also describes a tri-fold phone, featuring three panels, two hinges, a USB-C port, and a triple-camera system. This design appears refined and may relate to the dual-hinge hint mentioned during Galaxy Unpacked 2025. Even though this tri-fold seems more feasible, the quad-fold’s ambitious nature captures more attention.

    Samsung’s Competitive Edge

Samsung’s venture into foldables began over six years ago, and this patent reinforces its position above competitors like Apple, which has not yet entered the foldable market. The South Korean giant’s ongoing advancements in foldable design—from the first Galaxy Z Fold to this new quad-fold idea—help maintain its lead in the tech race.

Despite these exciting developments, it should be noted that there are no confirmed release dates for either the tri-fold or the quad-fold device. The latter could remain just a concept for a few years before it becomes available. However, two different versions of the tri-fold have recently appeared in the GSMA database with model numbers SM-F9680 (likely for China) and SM-F968N (possibly for South Korea), indicating that availability may be restricted to these two regions. For more details about the tri-fold, check it out here.
