Apart from looking after the car, they also need to meet their character’s needs, such as eating, drinking, sleeping, and other necessities. The game becomes even more challenging with a permadeath feature; if the character dies, the game ends for good.

    While My Summer Car might not have the graphical finesse seen in today’s Unreal Engine 5 titles, it looks more like a game from the PlayStation 3 era. Nevertheless, this doesn’t seem to deter Steam users. Since its Early Access debut in October 2016, the game has received over 77,000 reviews, achieving a “Very Positive” average rating of 94%.     Your mission is to locate and steal a device called the interpolator for your mysterious client and use it to flee Hadrian’s Wall. The interpolator is a machine that can alter reality, allowing you to create wormholes to different dimensions. It bears a resemblance to familiar themes; swap out the freelancer for a hacker and Hadrian’s Wall for Citadel station, and the similarities become quite pronounced.

    Art and Gameplay Design

    The game’s visuals and overall design seem to take cues from Half-life 2, showcasing towering structures akin to Citadel and alien worlds reminiscent of Xen. However, Deficit offers more than just a striking aesthetic. It includes a melee combat system similar to that of Condemned: Criminal Origins, encouraging players to use the environment and a variety of hammers, weapons, and tools creatively to overcome foes.

    Titan Quest enthusiasts have been longing for a sequel for almost two decades now. Originally launched in 2006, the game has built a loyal fanbase due to its fast-paced gameplay similar to Diablo and its distinctive class system that allows players to combine abilities from two different classes.

    The Connection to Grim Dawn

    If this rings a bell, it’s because some of the folks who worked on Titan Quest went on to create Crate Entertainment, the minds behind Grim Dawn. They even utilized the engine developed for Titan Quest to craft Grim Dawn.

    The Fate of Titan Quest

    So, what became of Titan Quest? Iron Lore Entertainment shut its doors in 2008 after failing to secure funding for their next title. After being in a state of uncertainty for several years, Titan Quest received an unexpected anniversary update in 2016, followed by an expansion named Ragnarok in 2017.

    In 2019 and 2021, two additional expansions—Atlantis and Eternal Embers—were released, and in 2023, a sequel to Titan Quest was announced. This new title is being crafted by Grimlore Games, the team behind Spellforce.

    Leaked Footage and Gameplay Details

    Recently, leaked gameplay footage of Titan Quest 2 was shown running on the Steam Deck (Source: The Game Plays! on YouTube).

    What does the leak reveal? According to Insider Gaming, it seems to be an internal beta build for testing purposes. Users on Reddit who experienced the leaked version indicated that it retains the dual-class system from the original but now functions similarly to Diablo 3’s abilities. This means that skills come with various modifiers that you unlock as you progress.

    If this is accurate, it suggests a more streamlined approach to the skill trees seen in both Titan Quest and Grim Dawn. Instead of assigning points to skills as you gain levels, players can swap them out when they unlock additional modifiers.

    While Diablo 3’s skill system has its flaws, it does make things easier for newer ARPG players who might not want to spend excessive time figuring out skill allocations. This new approach allows players to experiment with all available skills and promotes building swaps for greater efficiency, albeit at the expense of some depth.
