    5. The device includes a dual-fan setup and allows users to connect the external battery via cable or attach it to the back for flexibility.

GPD has introduced the Win 5 along with its full specifications, and they have now revealed the prices for this gaming handheld in China. According to the latest updates, the model featuring the Ryzen AI Max 385 will be available for pre-order at CNY 8,699, which is about $1,221.

    Pricing Details

For the version with the Ryzen AI Max+ 395, the 32 GB RAM option will cost CNY 9,999, while the 64 GB RAM variant is priced at CNY 12,999. These amounts convert to roughly $1,403 and $1,824, respectively. However, GPD has not disclosed the pricing for the 128 GB RAM model as of now.

    Pre-Order and Release Information

The company has announced that pre-orders for this gaming handheld will start in China on September 25, 2025. The global release is scheduled for October 17, and it is expected to be priced below $1,500 in markets outside China, providing a competitive advantage over the Asus ROG Flow Z13 2025, which has the Strix Halo and is currently sold for $2,169.99 on Amazon.

For anyone who may have missed our earlier reports, the Win 5 features a new design compared to its previous version. Notably, it does not come with a built-in keyboard, and GPD has opted for an external battery, which has drawn some criticism from its user base.

    Performance and Flexibility

Nonetheless, the choice for an external battery is believed to be a result of the performance-oriented hardware packed inside. The device includes a dual-fan configuration, and GPD asserts that the Strix Halo APU can operate at a TDP of 75 W.

The Win 5 also provides substantial flexibility with its external battery pack. Users can attach it to the back of the handheld or connect it via a cable, functioning similarly to a power bank. For additional details on the device, you can refer to our earlier articles or the specifications sheet provided below.

    5. Release Timeline: Eggspedition is set for a 2025 release, with no specific launch date yet. Players can add it to their Steam wishlist.

On September 8, Wildflame Studio unveiled the initial reveal trailer for Eggspedition, a title that succinctly represents the game’s essence. This survival shooter immerses players in a dense jungle where they must retrieve dinosaur eggs, all while adhering to the chilling guideline: “No egg, no evac.” Although the name includes a clever pun, the trailer conveys a much darker tone, featuring unsettling roars and ominous shadows that create a suspenseful, horror-inspired setting.

    Trailer Insights

The 90-second trailer provides a sneak peek into the game’s shadowy jungle environment, hinting at the dinosaurs that may be lurking in the depths. However, it remains ambiguous whether the visuals depict actual gameplay or are solely cinematic scenes.

    Gameplay Features

Eggspedition allows players to engage solo or collaborate in teams of up to four. Each mission is generated procedurally, with the only pre-disclosed information being the difficulty level. It’s vital for players to work together—while one member carries the eggs, others can scout the area or offer protection. A Player vs. Player mode is mentioned on Steam, but the developers have not shared any specifics yet.

Players will face various dinosaurs, including velociraptors, pteranodons, and the massive T. Rex. Each type exhibits unique hunting habits and roams specific territories. The artificial intelligence controlling these creatures is not scripted, leading to unpredictable encounters that maintain high tension during missions.

    Release Information

Although an exact launch date has not been announced, Eggspedition aims for a 2025 release. If the combination of cooperative gameplay, horror aspects, and dinosaur dangers intrigues you, feel free to add the game to your Steam wishlist now.

  • Battlefield 6 Gameplay Leak Fuels Debate on Battle Royale Mode

Battlefield 6 Gameplay Leak Fuels Debate on Battle Royale Mode

    Key Takeaways

    1. Vehicle Emphasis and Water Physics: The first video highlights vehicles, particularly a tank and a boat, showcasing impressive water physics reminiscent of Battlefield 4. This sparks discussions about potential naval combat in Battlefield 6.

    2. Gameplay Start Mechanics: The second clip features a match’s beginning with players dropping from a Chinook helicopter, automatically following the leader but able to land independently, along with vibrant smoke trails.

    3. Positive and Negative Player Reactions: Feedback on the first video is mostly positive, especially regarding vehicle use, but concerns arise over the auto-spotting system, with calls for a return to manual spotting in Battle Royale.

    4. Criticism of Parachute Mechanics: The second video faces criticism for its parachute mechanics and colorful smoke trails, which some players fear may indicate the presence of microtransactions.

    5. Community Concerns and Future Outlook: There are worries that the new Battle Royale mode may borrow too much from Call of Duty: Warzone, risking Battlefield’s unique identity, as discussions continue about its potential impact on the player base.

The first video showcases about twelve minutes of gameplay that emphasizes vehicles prominently. A tank and a boat are displayed in action, but what really drew attention on Reddit was the water physics. The dynamic waves, which are simulated physically, reminded many players of the naval mechanics seen in Battlefield 4, leading to discussions about the potential for naval combat in future maps for Battlefield 6.

    Game Start Mechanics

The second clip is much shorter, lasting around three minutes, and captures the beginning of a match, starting with the typical drop from a Chinook helicopter. The squad follows the leader automatically during the descent, but players have the option to break away and land independently. A notable detail is the vibrant smoke trails left by each character as they jump.

    Player Reactions

The feedback for the first video has been largely positive, especially regarding the addition of vehicles, which many fans find a refreshing break from the usual infantry-centered battle royale gameplay. The reintroduction of realistic wave physics also resonated with long-time fans of Battlefield 4. However, not all responses were favorable; some players voiced concerns about the auto-spotting system, previously seen in the Battlefield 6 beta, which automatically highlights enemies. There are calls for the return of the classic manual spotting feature, particularly for the Battle Royale mode.

    Critiques on the Second Video

The second video received a more critical reaction from the gaming community. While certain players appreciated the teamwork during the drop, many expressed concerns about the colorful smoke trails, viewing them as a hint at possible microtransactions. Additionally, the parachute mechanics faced criticism, with some describing them as awkward and unrealistic. Fans are increasingly worried that the mode might be borrowing too heavily from Call of Duty: Warzone, raising concerns that Battlefield could have difficulty establishing its own unique identity in the battle royale genre.

These leaked videos originate from the first player-accessible test phase of the new Battle Royale mode, and it is still uncertain how well this early footage will reflect the final version of the game. Nonetheless, the mode has already ignited lively discussions within the community. Some players see it as a chance to introduce innovative concepts to the genre and lure fans from competing titles, while others worry it might split the player base and dilute Battlefield’s essence. The Battle Royale mode is set to launch as a free expansion shortly after Battlefield 6’s release on October 10, 2025.

  • Heroes of Barcadia Announces 3 Expansions, Halloween Special

Heroes of Barcadia Announces 3 Expansions, Halloween Special

    Key Takeaways

    1. Rollacrit launched three expansions for Heroes of Bacardia, marking the largest content release since their successful Kickstarter campaign.
    2. The ‘Heroes for Hire’ expansion adds four new characters, each with unique abilities and items, which integrate with the main game.
    3. The Booze Ooze Invasion introduces wandering enemies that can disrupt player strategies, adding a dynamic challenge to gameplay.
    4. The Halloween Booster Pack features seasonal content with new room types, spooky power-ups, and house rule cards themed around Halloween.
    5. Exclusive Kickstarter merchandise, including unique items like the Die of Barcane Chaos, is available for fans on Rollacrit’s official website.

Rollacrit, the team behind the well-loved board game Heroes of Bacardia (curr. $69.99 on Amazon), has launched three expansions all at once for their hit game. This is the largest content release since their amazing Kickstarter campaign, which brought in over $1.2 million back in 2022.

    New Characters and Gameplay

First up is ‘Heroes for Hire’, which adds the most significant new content to the Barcadia universe. This core expansion features four entirely new characters: Sip-Jin the Drunken Fist, Biggswigg the Buzzkiller, Ontaprielle the Alchemist, and Dram the Aged & Oaken. Each character comes with their own health bar cup, custom d20 die, signature move card, and unique loot cards. The expansion integrates seamlessly with the main game, letting players swap any Heroes for Hire character with original heroes while mixing their unique cards into existing decks.

    A Twist with Enemies

Next, we have The Booze Ooze Invasion, which takes a unique approach by adding wandering enemies that move around the game board on their own. These slimes create a lively challenge as they ooze over dungeon tiles, throwing off players’ well-thought-out strategies. Players can use special loot cards to strategically position oozes in their opponents’ way, but these pesky creatures won’t stick around for long.

    Halloween Fun Awaits

The Halloween Booster Pack is a groundbreaking addition as it serves as Heroes of Barcadia’s first seasonal content. This pack introduces a new room type called “The Ally,” along with spooky room tiles, creepy power-ups, and bizarre house rule cards. The pack includes five power-ups, five house rule cards, and five room tiles, all designed to fit the Halloween theme.

On top of all this, Rollacrit is also giving fans another chance to snag exclusive Kickstarter merchandise like the Die of Barcane Chaos, Sword of Revealment 6-Pack, and Voodoo Ranger. All expansions and merchandise related to Heroes of Bacardia can be found on Rollacrit’s official website.

Ayaneo has revealed that its new Android gaming handheld, the Konkr Pocket Fit (Elite), has quickly become its top-selling Android gaming device in China. An update shared on their Indiegogo page indicates that the Konkr Pocket Fit achieved a remarkable sales record in just a week. To celebrate this achievement, Ayaneo is offering rewards to its fans worldwide.

    Special Pricing Extended

The first reward is an extension of the super early bird pricing, which will last until the end of the month. This means that customers who have not yet purchased the handheld can still buy the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3-powered Konkr Pocket Fit for $239, or the Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered Pocket Fit Elite for $269, until September 30.

    Battery Upgrade Announcement

The second reward involves a battery upgrade. Ayaneo has stated that both previous and future orders (for a limited time) of the Konkr Pocket Fit and Pocket Fit Elite will receive an upgraded battery of 8,400mAh, which is an increase of 400mAh from the original capacity announced at the handheld’s launch.

In light of Ayaneo’s plans to set a deadline for new orders to qualify for the battery upgrade, it appears they intend to offer two versions of the handheld with differing battery sizes. However, it wouldn’t be surprising if they later declare that the larger battery will become the standard option after the crowdfunding campaign concludes.

  • Valve Set to Reveal Deckard Steam Frame VR Headset This Week

Valve Set to Reveal Deckard Steam Frame VR Headset This Week

    Key Takeaways

    1. Valve’s upcoming VR headset, known as Deckard, may have received its official title but details remain undisclosed.
    2. Speculation about an announcement is fueled by hints from VR YouTubers and community members, including a special report scheduled for September 17.
    3. VR YouTuber Nathie hinted at a trip to Seattle, potentially linking to Valve’s location and upcoming developments.
    4. Clues from recent SteamVR updates include references to ‘Frame’ interfaces, suggesting progress on the headset.
    5. Valve is reportedly securing a new trademark for the Steam Frame, indicating an official reveal may be imminent.

For a while now, there have been buzzes about Valve’s upcoming VR headset, which is often referred to as Deckard. It seems that Deckard is the internal name for the headset, and it may have recently received its official title. Since Valve has not yet disclosed any details regarding the headset, everything is still based on guesswork, but it appears we might not have to wait too long for an official announcement.

    Possible Update Coming Soon

As noted by Reddit user ‘___Steve,’ Valve might be gearing up for some kind of announcement regarding the Deckard, or whatever the final name will be. This information comes from well-known VR YouTuber habie147, who concluded their recent video by stating, “I will see you next, on Wednesday. Special report incoming. First time ever Wednesday posting. Big deal. Set an alarm. Alert the Post Office.”

    Hints from the VR Community

To further spark interest, another VR YouTuber, Nathie, shared on Threads on September 7 that they are excited about an upcoming trip to Seattle, hinting they could be visiting Bellevue, where Valve is located. In addition, Norman Chan from Tested tweeted a puzzling message on BlueSky on September 10, which might relate to the next Half-Life game. They mentioned, “plateau? more like mesa.”

All these clues suggest that an update concerning the Steam Frame, Valve’s next VR headset, may be coming on Wednesday, September 17.

    Speculations and Clues

While these events could be random and unrelated to any Steam Frame update, the timing does seem notable. Back in 2019, Valve kept quiet about the Index VR headset until it was unexpectedly introduced during a livestream by Facebook (now Meta).

Additionally, the recent updates for SteamVR have included many references to ‘Frame’ interfaces and menus. Valve has also been working on securing a new trademark for the Steam Frame with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Whether or not an announcement will happen this week, it looks like the company is getting closer to officially revealing something new.

  • Indie Game Peaks in August, Dominates Steam Sales Charts

Indie Game Peaks in August, Dominates Steam Sales Charts

    Key Takeaways

    1. Peak has sold 3.7 million units, outperforming its closest rival, Mage Arena, by over 200%.
    2. The game’s affordable price of $7.99 contributes to its popularity, but limits its revenue generation.
    3. Peak ranks seventh in total earnings on Steam for August 2025, earning $20.5 million.
    4. The game reached a peak of 170,000 concurrent players on August 17, setting a new record.
    5. Upcoming releases like Borderlands 4 and Hollow Knight: Silksong may affect indie game sales in September.

When we last talked about Peak, it was already a super popular co-op game. But now, it has become somewhat of a mystery in the indie game world. Recent information shows that Peak has sold more copies than any other paid game on the Steam store, and the gap is quite large.

    Sales Figures

Data from GameDiscoverCo reveals that in August 2025, Peak sold an impressive 3.7 million units, leading over its closest rival, Mage Arena, by 2.5 million units. To put it simply, it has done better than Mage Arena by more than 200%.

    Pricing and Accessibility

A big part of Peak’s success comes from its affordable price of $7.99 and its overall accessibility. The game requires only basic system requirements, like an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT.

However, this low price means that Peak doesn’t generate as much revenue as some other games. It ranks seventh in total earnings, bringing in $20.5 million for the month, which is behind other top-earning games on Steam for August 2025. The highest earners are mostly free-to-play games, with Counter-Strike 2 making a staggering $154.8 million in first place, followed by PUBG: Battlegrounds at $56.7 million, Battlefield 6 at $52.6 million, Apex Legends at $23.5 million, and Marvel Rivals at $22.5 million, filling out the top five.

    Player Engagement

The player count stats from SteamDB also support Peak’s remarkable sales in August, showing that the game hit a peak of 170,000 concurrent players on August 17, which set a new record.

As we look to September, it will be fascinating to see how things unfold, especially with the release of both Borderlands 4 and Hollow Knight: Silksong. These are two much-anticipated titles, yet they cater to very different audiences. It’s thought that Silksong could significantly impact the sales of indie games, especially since it launched with very little notice to other indie developers.

  • GTA 6 Delay Rumors Debunked by Industry Insider

GTA 6 Delay Rumors Debunked by Industry Insider

    Key Takeaways

    1. Release Date Uncertainty: GTA 6 may be delayed to October 2026, with an announcement expected in November; initial launch was planned for fall 2025, then moved to May 2026.

    2. Conflicting Insights: Industry insiders have varying opinions; some believe there won’t be further delays, while others suggest the possibility of additional postponements.

    3. Development Challenges: Reports indicate Rockstar is facing difficulties in completing the game, with mentions of “development hell” affecting progress.

    4. Job Openings Indicate Progress: Rockstar is hiring for marketing roles related to GTA 6, suggesting work is ongoing, but this does not ensure the release will remain on schedule.

    5. Multiple Scenarios Possible: Various outcomes are possible, including a delay announcement, promotional content release, or the game launching as planned in May 2026.

GTA 6 is set to be not just the largest video game ever created but also the most discussed prior to its release, as rumors and counter-rumors are surfacing simultaneously. Recent reports indicate a possible delay that could push the game’s launch to October 2026, though an industry insider has suggested otherwise. Until Rockstar gives a clear statement, all of this remains speculation.

    Release Date Uncertainty

Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming mentioned in a podcast that he doubts GTA 6 will launch in May. He believes that Rockstar, known for their pursuit of perfection, will likely need additional months, thus moving the release to October 2026. An announcement about this potential delay is expected in November. Initially, the game was set for a fall 2025 launch, which was then postponed to May 26, 2026.

    Conflicting Insights

Around the same time, Luke Stephens shared a video on YouTube where he claimed to have spoken with someone “pretty high up in the publishing side” who has insight into the project. This individual reported that the developers at Rockstar are feeling confident, stating that there shouldn’t be any further delays.

Since the official delay was announced, various reports have emerged on both sides. A former Rockstar developer mentioned that since the company announced a specific release date this time, they aren’t expecting any further delays. Conversely, another industry insider raised concerns about possible delays based on information from sources close to Rockstar and feedback from development studios.

    Development Challenges

In June, there were reports indicating that Rockstar faced difficulties completing the final chapter, suggesting that GTA 6 was experiencing “development hell.” Then in July, a leaker with a less-than-stellar reputation claimed that the game could be delayed until September 2026, citing internal discussions as their source.

Recently, Rockstar has advertised job openings for its marketing team, likely aimed at promoting GTA 6. The positions include a Narrative Video Editor and a Motion Graphics Artist. While this implies that Rockstar is making strides on the game, it doesn’t guarantee that the release will be on schedule.

    Possibilities Ahead

There are multiple potential scenarios, but each should be viewed with skepticism. We might see a delay announcement in November, as Henderson suggested, or we could receive promotional content by the end of the year due to the job postings. There’s also the chance of an early next-year delay announcement, or the game might just launch on May 26, 2026 without any further hold-ups.

  • Reddit Ad Claims Fake Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Playtest Scam

Reddit Ad Claims Fake Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Playtest Scam

    Key Takeaways

    1. Scammers are targeting gamers with fake playtest invitations for Battlefield 6, leading to phishing attacks.
    2. A recent ad on Reddit has been identified as a scam designed to steal Steam login credentials.
    3. EA has not confirmed any additional playtests for Battlefield 6, despite misleading advertisements.
    4. The new battle royale mode will feature 100 players and elements unique to the Battlefield franchise.
    5. Gamers should be cautious of suspicious links and avoid sharing their Steam account details.

Scammers are targeting worried gamers once again as the Battlefield 6 launch day on October 10th draws near. Recently, a Reddit advertisement has been promoting playtest invitations to try out the new battle royale mode. Unfortunately, these phishing links redirect users to a fraudulent website, where naive players enter their Steam login details.

    Another Attempt to Deceive

The questionable ad found on the official Battlefield subreddit marks yet another scheme aimed at stealing Steam credentials. Prior to the first open beta in July, an Instagram advertisement lured players with fake links. Frustrated gamers are pointing fingers at social media platforms for letting these scams circulate.

    Exciting Features Await

This free-to-play battle royale mode is the first opportunity for gamers since the Battlefield 5 expansion to engage in this type of gameplay. A total of 100 competitors will battle it out to eliminate each other, incorporating unique elements associated with the Dice shooter franchise. Features from Battlefield 6, like destructible physics and a class system, will be present. A leaked video raised worries about vehicle usage and the potential for microtransactions. Nonetheless, gamers are eager to see how the intense combat scenarios will play out.

    Current Status of Playtests

Sadly, in spite of the Reddit ad’s assertions, EA has not confirmed any additional playtests for Battlefield 6. The only way to get a sneak peek at the battle royale experience is via Battlefield Labs. On September 10th, the publisher announced that testing for the mode would commence soon.

As the Battlefield 6 release date nears, players can still register for these exclusive playtests. Battlefield Labs opened its doors for sign-ups back in February and frequently showcases developmental builds. Unlike the open beta phases, participants in these private playtests must adhere to a non-disclosure agreement to prevent leaking information about Battlefield 6, although this has proven to be quite ineffective.

Scammers will keep taking advantage of unsuspecting gamers who are excited for Battlefield 6. These players should be cautious of any links that have a suspicious domain and request their Steam account details.
