DJI Mini 4K Drone Launches in China, Priced at 1,499 Yuan ($207)

DJI, the renowned Chinese drone manufacturer, has just introduced the Mini 4K drone in China. This new model boasts enhanced imaging capabilities, supporting up to 4K/30fps video, a significant upgrade from the Mini 2 SE, which only supports up to 2.7K/30fps video. Despite these improvements, the Mini 4K retains the other features of the Mini 2 SE and is priced affordably at 1,499 yuan ($207) in China, which is cheaper than its price in the US and other markets.

    Features

The DJI Mini 4K is a compact and lightweight drone, weighing just 249 grams, making it easy to operate in most countries without the need for special training or testing. It supports one-click takeoff and landing, as well as automatic return, making it an ideal choice for beginners. The drone offers a flight time of 31 minutes on a single charge, which can be extended to 93 minutes if video recording is not used.

Despite its affordability, the Mini 4K comes packed with impressive features such as a three-axis mechanical gimbal and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). It includes intelligent shooting modes like one-click short films and panoramic photos, enabling even novices to create stunning aerial footage. Additionally, it supports one-click short video shoots with various modes like fade, spiral, soar, surround, and comet. With just two taps, the drone can automatically shoot and generate a short video with multiple filters and soundtracks, which users can share directly or edit within the app. The drone has an image transmission distance of up to 10 kilometers.

    Advanced Imaging

For still photography, the Mini 4K can capture panoramic shots in wide-angle, 180°, and spherical panorama modes. With a simple tap, it can automatically complete the shooting process, post-processing, and produce high-resolution panoramic images.

The Mini 4K is also equipped with four brushless motors, offering up to level 5 wind resistance and the capability to take off at altitudes of up to 4,000 meters. It features a built-in GNSS module, a downward visual perception system, and an infrared perception system, ensuring stable hovering and precise obstacle detection.

    Pricing & Availability

The DJI Mini 4K is currently available in China for 1,499 yuan ($207) through Jingdong (JD.com). It was launched last month and is also available in the US via Amazon for $299, with the fly more combo costing nearly twice as much.

Xiaomi MIJIA Air Fryer N1 5L Now Available for Pre-Order on JD

Xiaomi has listed the yet-to-be-released MIJIA Air Fryer N1 5L version for pre-order on the popular Chinese online marketplace Jingdong (JD.com). The pre-order price for this household appliance starts at 199 yuan ($28).

The company has not officially announced the product, and the pre-order webpage lacks an image. Nevertheless, we can infer some details from its predecessor, the MIJIA Air Fryer N1 5.5L, which was introduced last year. It is likely that the new product will maintain the same design as the 5.5L version, but with a more compact form factor since it is a 5L model. However, this won’t be Xiaomi’s smallest air fryer, as they also released a 4.5L version last year. The product page indicates that the device has a 1200W power rating and supports an internal temperature range of 40-220°C.

    Features and Specifications

For comparison, the MIJIA Smart Air Fryer 5.5L includes an internal annular air duct system that allows hot air to circulate directly to the bottom. This design eliminates the need to turn over the food during cooking. Additionally, it features a built-in NTC smart temperature control to prevent burning and undercooking.

The 5.5L smart air fryer is also equipped with a transparent window on the front, enabling users to monitor the cooking status of their ingredients at any time. It employs 1500W far-infrared heating, reaching a maximum temperature of 220°C. Moreover, it has a high-temperature degreasing mode to filter out extra fat.

    Smart Home Integration

As with all Xiaomi smart home devices, the air fryer can be controlled via the MIJIA app and remotely through XiaoAI. More details about the product are expected to be released by the company in the coming days.

Honor Launches AI OS to Enhance User Experience & Privacy

Honor made its debut today at VivaTech, one of Europe’s largest tech and innovation events. During the keynote, HONOR introduced its innovative approach to on-device AI and unveiled its pioneering Four-layered AI Strategy.

Additionally, Honor announced forthcoming Gen-AI experiences with Google Cloud, set to appear on its anticipated smartphones, promising to enhance user experiences in exciting ways. Here are the details…

    Introducing Honor’s Four-Layer AI Architecture

During the keynote, HONOR presented its Four-Layer AI Architecture, emphasizing its strategic focus on integrating AI into MagicOS. This architecture consists of distinct layers.

At the foundational level, Cross-device and Cross-OS AI form the base of an open ecosystem, allowing the sharing of computing power and services among various devices and operating systems.

Building upon this, the Platform-level AI layer facilitates a personalized operating system, enabling intent-based human-computer interaction and personalized resource allocation.

The third layer, App-level AI, is set to introduce a wave of innovative, generative AI applications that aim to transform user experiences.

At the top, the Interface to Cloud-AI services layer offers users easy access to extensive cloud services while prioritizing privacy protection, creating a comprehensive and future-forward AI experience.

Four-Layer AI Architecture for On-Device AI

As part of MagicOS 8.0, Magic Portal is the industry’s first intent-based UI, which understands user behavior and simplifies complex tasks into single-step processes.

Currently, Magic Portal supports 100 top applications across seven scenarios, including travel, productivity, messaging, search, entertainment, shopping, and social media. There are plans to expand usage scenarios to provide even more seamless and intelligent AI experiences in the future.

As part of HONOR’s Four-Layer Architecture, the company aims to integrate advanced Gen-AI experiences, powered by Google Cloud, into its forthcoming smartphones, promising to deliver enhanced privacy protection alongside new levels of intelligence and innovation.
