Casio G-Shock GA-2100 Hiroshima Toyo Carp Watch Release in February

Casio has been known for working with the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, a famous baseball team in Japan, to create special G-Shock watches. A memorable watch from this collaboration is the DW-5600CARP-1JR, released in 2009, which features design aspects that reflect the team’s red colors and logo. Now, it looks like there’s another exciting model coming soon between Casio and the team.

New Limited Edition Model

The latest addition, called the GA-2100 Hiroshima Toyo Carp Edition, will be available as a limited run of only 2,000 watches, with an official release date set for February 1, according to Great G-Shock World. The retail price is ¥18,000 (around $115), and the watch showcases the Hiroshima Carp’s iconic red and black color scheme. This model is based on the GA-2100, affectionately known as the “CasiOak” due to its unique octagonal bezel. The dial displays the Carp logo along with red details against a sleek black backdrop. Additionally, the back of the watch features the team’s logo and a “Limited Edition” inscription. From the pictures available, it appears that the watch is presented in a striking red tin box adorned with the team’s branding.

Features and Build Quality

Beyond its striking looks, the GA-2100 Carp Edition boasts G-Shock’s renowned shock-resistant design, a water resistance of up to 200 meters, and a carbon core guard structure. The watch is also lightweight, complemented by a bio-resin strap that adds to its comfort.

The distribution of the watch will be handled through a lottery system in Japan, giving priority to members of the Carp fan club. While this approach helps prevent scalpers from buying up the watches, it has received some backlash for making it challenging for international fans to obtain one. Nonetheless, for those fortunate enough to secure one, it promises to be a unique highlight in any Casio collection.
