The manual for the new Casio G-Shock DW-5000R-1AJF has been found. This watch is part of a larger celebration of the original G-Shock model, the DW-5000C, which first came out in 1983. Recently, the series has seen other new watches, such as the Casio DW5600RW-1 Rainbow Brick wall model.
Leaked Information
Speculation about the G-Shock DW-5000R-1AJF started earlier this year when images were shared on Instagram by the user geesgshock. Now, the Japanese site Great G-Shock World has located the manual for the DW-5000R-1AJF on Casio’s website in Japan. This document verifies that the watch features the brand’s latest LED backlight tech, called Super Illuminator, which makes it easier to see the display in low light conditions. It also highlights the watch’s functionalities, which includes alarm, timekeeping, stopwatch capabilities, and a completely automatic calendar extending to the year 2099.
Extended Battery Life
Furthermore, it mentions that the watch can operate for as long as five years on a CR2016 battery, an improvement over the three-year battery life found in older models. The Casio G-Shock DW-5000R-1AJF is anticipated to launch in Japan in December 2024, with a cost of ¥33,000 (approximately $214). It’s still uncertain if or when it will be available in other regions such as North America or Europe.
