Casio has stopped making the G-Shock AWG-M100FP-1A4JR watch, even though it was launched not long ago. This analog-digital watch made its debut in Japan back in February 2024 as part of the Fire Package series. Now, it has been labeled as “Discontinued” on the brand's official website.
Features and Specifications
The AWG-M100FP-1A4JR is a shock-resistant timepiece that features a resin case and band along with an aluminum bezel, and it boasts 20 ATM water resistance. Thanks to Tough Solar charging, the battery life of this hybrid watch can last more than six months. The watch includes an LED backlight, making it easier to view the screen in low-light conditions. Additionally, the Casio watch supports standard time radio wave reception (Multiband 6) across different areas and can display time in either 12 or 24-hour formats for 48 cities around the globe. Other notable features are a stopwatch accurate to 1/100th of a second, a countdown timer, and alarms.
Uncertainty Surrounding Discontinuation
It's not clear why Casio chose to stop the G-Shock AWG-M100FP-1A4JR watch. Other models in the AWG-100 M100 Series, such as the AWG-M100SBB-1AJF and AWG-M100SB-2AJF, are still being sold at ¥31,900 (about $207) and ¥30,800 (around $200), respectively. Meanwhile, a similar model, the AWG-M100SB-2A, can be found on Amazon US through third-party sellers, currently priced at $147.50.
In the world of Casio, the G-Shock line remains iconic.
