BenQ Expands W5800 4K Projector with 2600 ANSI Lumens, HDR-Pro

BenQ has recently introduced its W5800 projector to the Indian market. This projector is now accessible globally either directly from BenQ or through various third-party retailers. In some parts of Europe, selected retailers have begun taking pre-orders for the model.

BenQ W5800 Specifications

The BenQ W5800 boasts a 4K UHD resolution (3840×2160), providing sharp and detailed visuals on screens up to 200 inches. Utilizing a laser array light source, the projector achieves a notable brightness of 2,600 lumens, making it versatile for different lighting environments. This high brightness, combined with 100% DCI-P3 color space and BenQ’s HDR-PRO technology, ensures vibrant and accurate color representation.

The projector supports 100% Rec.709 with Delta E<1 and grayscale tracking Delta E<2, delivering true Hollywood colors right out of the box. Its ISFccc certification enhances image and color performance customization, offering preset day and night modes for optimal viewing under varying lighting conditions.

Advanced Features and Connectivity

With advanced color temperature tuning, the W5800 provides 11 levels of white balance controls for precise mid-tone color adjustments. It also supports 24P playback, allowing movies to be displayed at 24 frames per second without judder, maintaining the integrity of the original image.

The W5800’s optical system includes a 14-element, 7-group all-glass lens that minimizes color discrepancies and boosts 4K image clarity. Its Local Contrast Enhancer (LCE) algorithm improves image depth by altering gamma across more than 1,000 zones independently.

Connectivity options for the W5800 include dual HDMI 2.0b ports, two USB Type-A ports, SPDIF, and eARC, ensuring smooth integration with diverse entertainment systems, including 7.1 channel and Dolby Atmos audio setups. The projector’s 1.6x motorized zoom and 2D lens shift (±50% vertical and ±21% horizontal) allow for flexible installation without compromising image quality.

Durability and Design

With a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 and up to 25,000 hours of light source life in ECO mode, the W5800 is designed for durability and top-notch performance. Its low-noise multi-channel cooling system ensures quiet operation. The projector’s design includes a patterned lens ring and anti-dust vertical louvers, which prevent stray light and dust from affecting its performance.

Pricing

The BenQ W5800 4K home theater projector is available for $5,999 in the United States and AU$8,999 in Australia.
