As promised, Ayaneo has shared extra details about its upcoming Android gaming handheld. This information came just a day after the device was first announced. Now, Ayaneo has disclosed the hardware features that it chose not to mention earlier.

Hardware Choices

Surprisingly, Ayaneo did not go for the Qualcomm Snapdragon G3 Gen 3, which is used in the Pocket S2 and the yet-to-be-released Gaming Pad. Instead, it has selected the older Snapdragon G3x Gen 2, which can be found in the previous models like Pocket Ace, Pocket S, Pocket DMG, and Pocket EVO (currently priced at $524.95 on Amazon). That said, the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 is still strong enough to run games up to the level of the Nintendo Switch.

Specifications and Features

To enhance performance, Ayaneo has incorporated LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage, alongside a robust 8,000 mAh battery to ensure the Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 operates smoothly. Additionally, the Pocket DS features a 7-inch OLED screen with a 165 Hz refresh rate, offering variable refresh support that delivers 1080p resolution with a peak brightness of 800 nits. On the other hand, the secondary display is a 5-inch LCD panel with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a resolution of 1,024 x 768 pixels. More information about the Pocket DS is set to be revealed next month when it makes an appearance at ChinaJoy 2025 in Shanghai.
