At CES 2024, Asus introduced the ROG Centra Truly Wireless Speednova gaming earbuds, set to be released in Q1 2024. These earbuds have now been launched in China under the name ASUS ROG TWS Speednova.
ASUS ROG TWS Speednova Specifications:
Compared to the previous model, the major update is the inclusion of 2.4 GHz connectivity (Speednova wireless technology) alongside standard Bluetooth. This innovation, facilitated by a USB-C wireless receiver, aims to provide minimal latency, crucial for gaming.
The device is tailored to deliver superior audio quality, leveraging the 2.4 GHz connection to support 24-bit 96 kHz audio through the LC3+ codec. It incorporates Dirac Opteo technology to enhance sound quality using DSP. An intriguing aspect of this version is its 'hybrid multipoint' feature, allowing simultaneous connections via Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz.
Enhanced Features of ASUS ROG TWS Speednova:
The ASUS ROG TWS Speednova is equipped with adaptive active noise cancellation (ANC) that adjusts based on the user's ear canal shape and the snugness of fit. It can provide up to 31dB of noise cancellation. Additionally, it includes an 'Auto Mode' that adapts noise reduction and ambient sound based on the surroundings, offering distinct settings for Street, Commuting, and Home environments.
In terms of audio input, these earbuds utilize a blend of air-conduction and bone-conduction microphones to enhance voice isolation from ambient noise. The ASUS ROG TWS Speednova boasts a total battery life of 46 hours with Bluetooth and 36 hours with 2.4 GHz connectivity. Featuring customizable ASUS Aura RGB lighting, they are available in black and white, retaining attributes like wireless charging and an IPX4 water resistance rating.
Pricing & Availability:
Currently, the ASUS ROG TWS Speednova is open for pre-orders in China at 1,499 yuan ($208), with plans for international availability in the near future.
