ASUS recently unveiled the Fearless Pro16 2024 laptop. Now available for purchase in China, the device is priced at 7999 Yuan (approximately $1100) for the 32GB RAM and 1TB storage variant. This laptop features a Ryzen AI 9 365 processor and a 16″ 3.2K OLED display.
Design and Display
The laptop boasts an all-metal body that is just 13.9mm thick and weighs a mere 1.5kg. Its lid can open to a full 180 degrees. The display is a 120Hz OLED screen, covering 100% of the P3 wide color gamut, supporting 10-bit color depth, and achieving a peak brightness of 600 nits. An illustrative image of the bezels can be seen above. It also includes a 1080p IR camera mounted on top of the display.
Processor and GPU
The AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 processor is built on TSMC’s 4nm FinFet process, featuring a 10C20T Zen 5 core and a Radeon 880M integrated GPU. This iGPU has 12 Compute Units (768 unified shaders) operating at up to 2,900 MHz. It supports up to four monitors with resolutions as high as SUHD 4320p60. Additionally, the processor includes an XDNA 2 NPU with 50 TOPS computing power, providing a glimpse of the GPU performance from the image below.
Performance and Cooling
Reports indicate that the Radeon 880M iGPU outperforms its predecessor, the Radeon 780M, by 15%, nearing the performance level of a 40W RTX 3050. The laptop is equipped with a dual-fan dual-heat pipe cooling system, capable of delivering 50W of performance in full-speed mode.
