Xpeng has formally introduced its new electric coupe SUV to the European market, unveiling the LO3 at a global launch event in Munich. The move brings a sharply priced competitor into a segment that includes established battery-electric and electric-assisted models from several automakers. For Europe, the company is streamlining its offering to just two powertrain variants: a battery electric vehicle (BEV) version and an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) version.

A Streamlined European Lineup

The decision to offer only BEV and EREV derivatives in Europe marks a contrast with the model’s domestic launch. In China, Xpeng announced a total of nine LO3 configurations, with prices starting at CNY 123,800 (roughly $18,300). By comparison, the LO3 BEV variant in Europe will start at €35,600 (approximately $40,770), while official pricing for the EREV variant has not yet been released. This introductory pricing positions the LO3 below several direct rivals, including the Tesla Model Y (€39,900), the Skoda Elroq (€37,390), and the Hyundai Ioniq (€41,900).

Battery Specs and Performance

The BEV version sends power exclusively to the rear wheels and draws from a 71.2 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, enabling a claimed range of up to 520 km (323 miles) on a single charge. The EREV variant pairs a smaller 37.2 kWh battery with a range extender, delivering a battery-only range of 315 km (195.3 miles) under the CLTC standard and a combined range exceeding 1,000 km (621.3 miles). Both versions share a top speed of 180 km/h (111.8 mph) and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.6 seconds.

Charging and Interior Technology

The LO3 rides on a 400-volt electrical architecture, which Xpeng says enables the battery to be replenished from 20 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes, and from 10 to 80 percent in 20 minutes. Inside the cabin, the entry-level SUV adopts a premium approach with electrically adjustable leather seats that feature ventilation, heating, and a 14-point full massage function. Two displays anchor the digital experience: a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and a 26.8-inch-wide head-up display.

A panoramic glass roof, Next-Generation Pilot NGP (VLA 2.0) driver assistance, ambient lighting, intelligent climate control, seven standard airbags, 13 driver-assist systems, and the XOPERA sound system round out the core equipment list. Xpeng backs the LO3’s battery with an eight-year or 160,000 km warranty. Following its European introduction, the compact electric SUV is slated for sale in China and across 64 overseas markets.
